Emergency landing made by Greek jet
A Greek airliner has been forced to make an emergency landing in Germany following a bomb threat.
The Olympic Airlines Boeing 737, which was carrying a number of EU officials, was on route from Athens to Strasbourg when Greek police received the call.
The aircraft, carrying 130 passengers and seven crew members, was forced to make a landing at Munich airport at 08:45 GMT this morning.
"The bomb threat was made with a phone call to the Greek police while the plane was in the air," Angeliki Gypaki, a spokeswoman for Olympic Airlines, told the BBC.
Greek foreign ministry spokesman Giorgos Koumoutsakos said that the call was most probably a hoax but that the authorities were investigating.
"I hope it was a hoax, but we are looking into the issue and we hope to have it cleared up soon," he said.
Although the caller named a flight number that did not exist, OA145 was closest to the one that was given.
