Millions on the move for Chinese New Year
Millions of people are travelling back home for Chinese New Year, with more than 150 million people in China alone returning to their families, according to reports.
Sunday marks the start of the Year of the Golden Pig, which only comes along every sixty years and marks the last animal out of the 12 used in the Chinese zodiac.
According to the BBC, 2.1 billion passenger trips will transport 155 million people internally in China ? over two and half times the entire UK population.
Chinese New Year traditionally finishes with a lantern festival on the 15th day of the celebrations which is preceded by the cleaning away of last year's bad luck.
The Year of the Golden Pig is thought to be especially lucky for new born babies. China's state news agency, Xinhua, has widely reported an expected baby boom as couples rush to get married and have a baby this year.
Societal services and shops are preparing for what they think might be a busy year for anyone who works in the maternity sector.
