Blaine comes crashing down to earth
The illusionist David Blaine came crashing down to earth yesterday (November 23rd) after escaping from his giant spinning gyroscope.
Blaine smashed through a wooden stage after he'd successfully freed himself from shackles that had been attached to him.
He then proceeded to limp wearily away from the site and signed a few autographs, before being driven away by a taxi.
The illusionist turned endurance stuntman confided: "It's actually harder than I thought it would be."
Blaine was suspended 50 feet above Times Square in a giant spinning device, which rotated him up to eight times a minute.
But after 52 hours in the dizzying apparatus Blaine was coherent enough to face the prospect of leading up to 100 children on a shopping trip.
The stunt was in aid of the Salvation Army which Blaine noted was very important to him as the organisation had given him clothes when he was young.
The 33-year-old now leaves the world waiting for his next escapade, after demonstrating his ability to sit in a giant water tank, lie in an ice cube, fast above London and stand on a giant pole.
