Blaine suspended above Times Square
David Blaine's latest stunt sees him suspended in a giant gyroscope five floors above Times Square in New York.
The stunt will finish on Friday (November 23rd) after Blaine attempts to free himself from shackles that will be added to his contraption tomorrow.
Blaine's previous stunts have seen him standing on top of a huge pole, spending over 60 hours in a large ice cube and fasting in a clear box in London.
His last challenge resulted in a failed attempt to break the world record for holding his breath under water while trying to escape from the tank.
The illusionist turned endurance junkie will take children selected by the Salvation Army on a shopping trip when the challenge is over.
He noted that that the charity organisation was important to him because it had given him clothing when he was a child. In addition Blaine claims this could be his toughest test yet.
"This is more difficult than anything I've ever done," he noted, before being loaded into the giant spinning machine.
The gyroscope will spin Blaine around as much as eight times a minute, something he claims he hasn't practised that much. "I will be learning how to do this as I'm doing it," the illusionist quipped.
