Nigeria crash airline has licence suspended
The airline involved in Sunday's plane tragedy in Nigeria has had its license suspended by the government.
ADC is a popular private airline, however, Nigeria's aviation industry has suffered from three plane accidents in the last year and there are calls for enhanced safety.
The bodies of 96 people have been retrieved from the wreckage, including that of the Sultan of Sokoto.
President Olusegun Obasanjo visited the Sultan's hometown and paid his respects to the leader of the county's Muslims.
Ishaq Akintola, director of civil society group Muslim Rights Concern, told the BBC: "Nigeria's aviation industry needs urgent overhaul. This is one crash too many.
An inquiry and three days of national mourning are underway amid claims that the plane was in a poor condition.
Federal territory minister Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, noted to the BBC that the plane was "deplorable" with "bald tyres".
The plane crashed shortly after takeoff from the capital, Abuja.
