Space tourist lands back on Earth
The first female space tourist has landed safely in northern Kazakhstan today (September 29th) after a ten-day trip in space.
Anousheh Ansari is believed to have paid over £10 million to become part of the project to the International Space Station (ISS).
Ms Ansari and the rest of the crew journeyed to space in a Soyuz capsule and the craft jettisoned a parachute and fired rockets to complete a gentle landing in a field.
The crew were tired and sat down in the dust, surrounded by officials and photographers as they adapted to gravity again.
Ms Ansari told Reuters: "They brought me home safe and sound. I had a great experience."
The first female Muslim and Iranian-born person in space was presented with a bouquet of red roses after leaving the landing craft.
The trip to the ISS saw the team carry out experiments on board the station and then leave one member with the rest of the long-stay crew.
Ms Ansari will now fly back to Russia after completing the various medical checks and exercises required after the trip.
