Greek fires contained
Forest fires in Halkidiki that occurred during August 21st are now contained and the Foreign Office has issued new guidance for tourists.
The advice includes checking with tour operators and hotels that any planned visit is unaffected and ensuring any potential traveller is aware of all the information before departing.
Around 1,000 British holidaymakers had to spend a night on the beach after the fires became out of control.
Cars and buildings were destroyed and air support teams for fire fighters couldn't make an impact until the morning due to them not being able to fly at night.
Greek officials commented that the pattern of the fire suggested arson.
Around three million Britons visit Greece every year and it remains a very popular tourist destination.
Many British tourists affected by the fires have now returned to their resorts.
The Greek resort of Hanioti was the worst affected with nearby areas also suffering from fire and smoke damage.
