Plane food gets a makeover
Future travellers are set to enjoy their aeroplane meals at perfect temperatures thanks to the creation of a new high-tech gadget.
Designed to combat the often-lukewarm delivery of plane food, the new system aims to serve the meals at the right temperature, helping to improve the overall travelling experience.
Devised by product innovation consultancy PDD, the Platnium catering system includes an integrated heater, chiller and steamer all on one plate that can be used to create the optimum serving temperature.
Once passengers have decided what to eat and when, the plate ensures the food is cooked and served correctly, reports TechDigest, hopefully going some way to improving the reputation of plane food for long haul flights.
It is also environmentally-friendly as it is reusable and cuts down on waste, a feature which is important as the tourism and transport industry looks to become more energy conscious.
