Milan Nightlife
Milan is a busy, bustling city full of young people and as such this city has a particularly vibrant nightlife.
From traditional pubs to pumping clubs, there is something to enjoy for everyone in Milan, catering for the wide variety of tastes of the Milanese people. Whether it be an evening of culture, with a trip to the theatre or opera, or an action-packed tour of the city's clubs, there is a diversity in the cosmopolitan Milan that is hard to find in other Italian cities.
A cheap way to spend an evening in Milan during the balmy summer evenings is to head to one of the various Musica in Metro events which take place across the city during the warmer months. This series of concerts sees local music students performing in their black-tie finery in Milan's subway stations. While it can be a slightly odd sight, the music is often to a high standard.
Travellers who particularly enjoy the opera will be keen to get a seat at the world famous La Scala, although hoping to get a ticket simply by turning up is likely to result in disappointment. These seats do not come cheap and most are snapped up weeks and months in advance. Generally populated by opera aficionados, someone who is not acquainted with the ways of the opera will be quickly noticed by the regular clientele and no doubt snubbed for their ignorance!
However, if a more welcoming and friendly atmosphere is sought then look no further than the Navigli and Porta Ticinese districts of Milan. These regions come alive in the evening – and well into the night – as they are filled with beer halls, clubs and sandwich bars which give the areas a lively ambience at all hours.
Revellers in Milan are spoilt for choice when it comes to nightspots enjoy. Milan has hundreds of places to enjoy an evening, from quiet, sometimes sleepy bars and cafes, through more lively wine bars and music bars, to the loud and raucous clubs of the city. Milan takes its clubbing very seriously and as such there is not only a wide choice of music varieties but also a highly competitive battle to have the best and most interesting interior designs.
This city is of course renowned for its style and its clubs have had an important impact on that reputation From hi-tech and futuristic settings to sparse Savannahs, the city is full of unique and eye-catching places to party.
From 6:30pm until nine, Milan's pubs and bars will be packed out as the locals indulge in the ritual of happy hour.
And with so much partying going on in the city, it is little wonder that the Milanese were one of the first peoples in Italy to embrace brunch – giving revellers plenty of chance to catch some much-needed food after the exploits of the night before.
