Liked: The location was perfect with a range of shops and restaurants close by. The range of food at the breakfast was also very good with a wide range of choices. The rooms were spacious and had everything that I required

Disliked: It was an inconvenience that one lift was out of order but apart from that I have little complaints

Liked: It's funny because it's weird. The place is John Malcovic themed, which means that they have pictures of him everywhere. As a social stunted member of staff who has worked there for 11 years informed me.....it's because he has shares in the place.....

Disliked: It's priced like a hotel, but is somewhere between a hotel and a hostel. They need to decide what they are I suppose. Why provide an amount of shower gel that 1 person can use for a 2 person room? Smart hotel furnishing....if Ikea had made the place....but not updated the furniture for 15 years....Clean to the glance, dirty to inspection.....The stairwell is like a fire escape but painted funny colours.....GO HERE if you want a hostel experience everywhere is booked or GO HERE if you want a hotel but the prices have gone through the roof because eric clapton is in town or something.

Liked: The rooms were very spacious and clean with great city centre views. Very handy location for Cardiff City Centre and breakfast serving times are very accommodating being served right up until checkout.

Disliked: Only one old lift meant getting to our room on the 9th floor could take a long wait. The room windows don't open and there is no other ventilation so it could get very hot in the rooms. Water in the shower would cut off completely every 5 mins or so but the pressure was very good when it was on.

Liked: this property's location is nice, also this hostel very pretty ..small rooms but enough area for sleep...but television s hasnt remote control in the room :)

Disliked: Room s curtain are very dirty and they leave was a few soup,coffee,tea,sugar,etc in room..

Liked: Location is great - less than 5 minute walk to the new St David shopping arcade and 10 minute walk to the Millennium Stadium. Also free continental breakfast is a plus.

Disliked: Our room wasn't very clean - the sheets had various stains on them. We told reception staff and changed rooms with little apology from them. The curtains in the 1st and 2nd rooms were like old carpets, again with lots of stains and discolouration. The hotel claims it's 'sleek and stylish' but I thought the rooms were bare and run-down. I don't think 'The Big Sleep Hotel' deserves the 'hotel' title and it really isn't what I would class as one.

Liked: breakfast was the only good thing about the hotel. The breakfast room is a hideous pink colour so this puts you off but otherwise pretty good.

Disliked: The worst hotel we have ever stayed in.....It has the character of a prison, the rooms are so sterile and the decor is horrendous. We have travelled alot through some of the poorest countries and have never been asked to pay for WIFI. At this hotel you HAVE to buy time to use WIFI. It is bad customer service especially as a customer of the hotel you would expect they would allow you to use the internet for free. Had to pay for parking too...again normally as a guest of a hotel you would expect they would give you free parking.

Liked: This hotel was excellent! The room was huge, bed comfy, breakfast amazing and staff extremely helpful. It is located in a great spot close to bars and restaurants. Highly recommended.
