Liked: Extremely friendly and helpful staff! Especially Hoang and Lin. They try to accomodate every request and try to resolve any issue you might have. They answered all kinds of questions for us and booked us on some tours (our idea - they are not at all pushy with tours, unlike some places).Big colonial French-style rooms.Located in Old Hanoi, 2min walk to Hoan Kiem lake. It's very easy to get around the historic city, either walking or taking rickshaws (very cheap). This is the tourist centre, so there are travel agents, restaurants, laundry, souvenirs at every turn. Everything you might need is right there.Free internet (2 computers).Breakfast included - vietnamese-style bread, eggs, coffee/tea, fruits.One minor "concern" - there is no sound insulation, so bikes honking and radios from the street will wake you up at 7am at the latest. Bring ear plugs.Highly recommended!

Liked: We enjoyed our stay here very much. This hostel is located within steps from Hoan Kiem lake, room is big and clean, friendliest staff we've met so far. Free internet, fruit, coffee and breakfast are really a bonus.

Liked: Good clean room with huge balcony, free internet and breakfast. Staff at the Ngoc Minh ( Lien and Tinh) really made the diffirence! Good value for money!

Liked: Ngoc Minh Hotel is a great place to stay while in Hanoi for the following reasons: 1) it\'s very accessible to everything being few meters away only to restaurants and shops line up along the Old Quarter Street. 2) the rooms and the hotel vicinity are clean and well kept. 3) guests have free access to internet. 4) has friendly staff who could communicate in English well. 5) the price is just affordable. I believe I will always look forward to staying here while in Hanoi. Liked: Ngoc Minh was a brilliant hotel for the price. Location is perfect, few minutes from the lake and surrounded by cafes/bars. Breakfast included with a fairly wide choice. The best feature is without doubt the friendly staff though. They can't do enough for you, taking a genuine interest in your plans while in the area without any kind of hard sell on tours they promote. That said the Halong Bay tour arranged here was brilliant.

Liked: The staff were so friendly and always smiling. I'm a woman travelling alone, and they told me to come to them if I had any trouble. The room was also really quiet!

Liked: We could use bicycles for free but just for one day.The location of the hostel is not bad.Beware ! some rooms do not have windows.

They organised all our onwards travel, including a complicated journey for one of our party on local buses to the Cambodian border near Plaiku.Reommended good places to eat, where we became regulars!Pick up from train station provided fo free

Liked: It's clean and rooms are really nice. They have fast internet connection and offer free tea and coffee. Close to the Citadel and staff is very helpful although has some problems with English.
