Liked: run by very friendly indian family - we had two fantastjc nights here. the elevator is more than 80 years old - the hotel is very cozy and charming - great value for your money!! breakfast is very basic..

Disliked: can't think of anything

Liked: Cheap and cheerful; a little scruffy round the edges but you could clearly see a very characteristic building beyond this. Also very central.

Disliked: A little noisy. A very meagre "breakfast". Check in took 30 minutes due to over cautious proprietor.

Liked: The location is good, although it is a little too close to The Tenderloin area, which can be a bit sketchy at night. Good value for the money you pay, and it's a good place to stay if you're just looking for a place to sleep for a few nights.

Disliked: The rooms have thin walls, so noices from other rooms (or the bathroom...) are easily heard through the walls. The breakfast was not very filling.

Disliked: bedcovers were either too old or just smelled and looked not clean,room almost claustrophobic,i guess they have to overcharge cos of the GREAT location despite all the homeless,alcoholics,panhandlers who make the sidewalks their homes!!!!!!

Liked: Good location, friendly staff. Good if you are just looking for somewhere basic and not too expensive to stay for a few days.

Disliked: Security deposit is 250 dollars and I am still waiting for it to go back on my card 4 weeks after checking out.

Disliked: There is not free wi-fi and a only a poor and old elevateur....I had to pay 250$ more and later 9dyas They return my money...

Liked: Located in the city center.

Disliked: Unpleasant staff !!! Too much homeless people in the street. Inadequate cleanliness. Endless check in and out.

Liked: It is very close to central San Francisco. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Disliked: The room was a bit damp and cool which was very uncomfortable as I had a cold when I came to San Francisco. When pointing this out to the staff they arranged for a heater. That was very friendly and the rest of my stay was nice.

Liked: Value for money. For such a cheap price, its exactly what you'd expect. Fine for one night. Friendly staff.

Disliked: Quite loud. Could hear the people upstairs moving, every noise from the bathroom across the hall and the mini fridge hummed loudly all night. The restrooms were far from great. Pillows were few and puny.

Liked: It was in a convenient location for a conference I was attending. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Disliked: When I booked I didn't realize it had a shared bathroom. Many of the rooms were renovated, but the inexpensive rooms were pretty rough. In particular, the bed was not very comfy.

Liked: Great place to stay if you want to discover San Francisco. We got a free update to a master bedroom!! Really happy & a perfect stay.

Liked: Great central location. I got exactly what I paid for.

Disliked: Shared bathroom & shower. Both were just barely big enough to get in and you need to keep the toilet roll in your room.

Liked: The staff is very helpful (free map, advices for transportation,...)Room very cleaned with microwave, refrigerator, hairdryer, etc.Localization: 3blocks of Union Square, a bus station on the corner of the street.Breakfast included !!!

Disliked: It's right that there are homeless people around, but it's general in all the city, they don't bother you and you have a safe bus next to the hotel. Caution of 250 dollars (anybody told me before booking) and taxes not included (you have to pay 15% more)

Liked: Great location near many cheap restaurants. Free continental breakfast in the morning.

Disliked: $250 security deposit. Too much for me, as I am a regular guest and have proven that I won't destroy the place.
