Liked: Great value for the money. Clean, quiet, except for the occasional band rehearsal downstairs. I didnt consider it a problem though.

Disliked: No receptionist after 11 pm. If you need something, you need to call the manager who lives somewhere else. Could be solved better.

Disliked: THERE ARE BED BUGS - beware. Housekeeping does not always seem to do their job, in the dorms or in the bathrooms.

Liked: It was really close to everything and really safe even though it's right next to the somewhat seedier part of town (Tenderloin a couple blocks away but Bush street is relatively safe - or as safe as you can have in a big city like San Francisco). The staff was also very nice and they kept the shared bathrooms clean enough (for shared bathrooms)! I would (and will very soon) definitely stay there again! Value for money was awesome.

Disliked: Stayed there for almost a week in one room and I decided to endure the whole time with the bedbug colony in my bed... It wouldn't have made any sense to move to another room and thus transfer the bugs to yet another bed. I do hope they would do something about the bedbugs in (I guess at least some of) the rooms since otherwise it's an awesome hotel for the price. And I'm going to stay there again *even if they had* the occasional bedbug problem since I'm willing to bet money that ALL of the cheap stays in and around Union Square / Tenderloin have their own occasional bed bug problems as well...

Liked: Clean, safe and friendly. Really comfy beds. They've got a fun music-decor going (album covers and saxophones hanging on the wall.) Decent walking distance from everywhere. Amazing value, given what you're paying.

Disliked: It would have been nice to have a communal room.

Liked: Close to the Powellstation, shopping, restaurants. Helpful staff. Laundry. clean room, bathroom. I slept in a 4 bed (female only) room, with fridge

Liked: The location is superb, because very centered to the various neighborboods of the city. Therefore everything within walking distance, if you're up for that. For the rest I like the facilities offered in my (single) room, such as fridge and TV,

Disliked: The hotel is kinda oldfashioned decorated. Further there is this (music)band that rehearses a couple of times a week somewhere in the building that you can hear very well.

Liked: The room was really nice, especially for the low price.

Disliked: There really wasn't much. My best friend and I payed for a private double and it was really nice. I don't know how the dorm rooms are.

Liked: It's essentially a hotel with bunks, so very clean, secure, well-maintained etc.

Disliked: Also like a hotel, there was little social aspect, no common area

Liked: It was so inexpensive and I was very please with the accommodations. It was very clean.

Disliked: I don't think people should have TVs in their rooms because some one at the end of the hall had theirs going very loudly which probably disturbed other customers.

Liked: bathroom was clean and they have laundry machine.

Disliked: Stairs: I had a big and heavy suitcase but there was nobody and stairs were small, so difficult to carry. they have key for each rooms but no meaning!!! I can open the door without key from outside. place was not safe enough.

Liked: Nicely furnished, VERY clean. Super easy check-in process, and walking distance to pretty much everything fun in this part of San Fran.

Disliked: No common room area to meet people.

Liked: Self check-in! It takes one minute to check in and you can show up anytime.

Disliked: No control for heater in room.

Liked: Very clean and friendly place. Rooms are very nice and newly remodeled.

Disliked: Only one thing, it was very cold the day I stayed there and there is no heat control in the room. I was cold all night, but it seemed warmer in the morning when I woke up.

Liked: Its a very central place. the rooms are quite clean and good sized.

Disliked: 1 night, i had a huge amount of bedbugs in my bed and i do not mean the small ones. got my room changed the next day. the next room was so hot do to a heater. there is not really any staff here. only for a couple hours a day! no aircondition. oh and its not a hostel, its a cheap stay hotel! DO NOT STAY HERE!
