Liked: I've stayed at many hostels in NY before. This is my favorite so far, and I will return next time. I love the classy wallpaper and mirrors/decorations. Very elegant. The rooms were very nice, and the bathrooms were clean.

Liked: I stayed in a single/twin room which was small, but really, it was perfect. I loved the decor, the cleanliness was off the charts. The hotel was really beautiful...old looking...but beautiful. Narrow hallways lead to your inside-access room. Shared bath/shower/restroom worked out perfectly fine, I never waited on the restroom. Again, the Hotel was CLEAN and the staff were cheerful, professional, and very accomodating.

Liked: It was in a reasonably central location in Manhattan (about a 4 block walk to the subway). The hostel staff was helpful whenever I asked for some information. The bathrooms were kept clean.

Liked: definitely the location. we were upgraded to have an ensuite too. we were expecting more of a hostel, but it turned out to be a boutique style hotel! did have a strong smell of varnish in the room, but an open window fixed that problem. i believe the rooms may have recently been renovated. would recommend "mumbles" restaurant on the corner of 17th and 3rd.
