Liked: The Cecil is in a good location based in the heart of the fashion district. It is only a 10 minute walk from the subway a short bus journery to Greyhound bus terminal. Very cheap for private rooms with bathroom. Our room was very clean and big, we were very impressed considering we had read a lot of bad reviews about this place. The reception desk were very helpful giving directions and advice. Would recommend this to backpackers.

Disliked: We noticed quite a few people sleeping rough in downtown LA but they never bothered us. Most major cities in the US are similar.

Liked: Goof for one night to discover downtown LA! but downtown LA is very ugly and i had an insecure feeling

Disliked: i had to pay 5 dollar more because they did not accepted the deposit from hostelbookers.com..... very very sad. first hotel where i had such a problem!!!!

Liked: Location, nice Lobby, affordable

Disliked: not enough space to store things in the room, rooms are much less fancy than lobby, parking was nearby but quite expensive (min 10USD/night)

Liked: This was an ideal for my friend and I to stay as it was affordable and within close proximity to Hollywood on the subway. For a short stay it was perfect and inexpensive.

Disliked: The area in which this hotel is located is bad and it leaves a lot to be desired. however if you are traveling and aren't too high maintenance this place really is fine for a short stay.

Liked: The location is excellent, in the center and all the public transport just some steps away... The price is the best we could find for the city. The room was simple but we had everything we needed. The lobby looks very nice

Disliked: We had problems with internet connection in the evenings. The housekeeping forgot to bring us new towels after removing the used ones and as the receptionist couldn't contact them we had to go twice to ask for them and then to pick them up. But all the rest was just fine.

Disliked: There is no parking and the employee ho checked me in charged me 3 times the amount of the stay...

Liked: Hi,i liked the Cecil hotel, but i had a big problem there.The hotel did charge my credit card 2 times, without my permis-i stayed in los angeles without any money that's way.And in the reception told me, that so sorry, but now, we can't make a devolution for you.Now(10 of June),already i don't have this money in mey credit card....so it was really bad

Liked: It was a distance from the Metro about 15 minute walk. The area was a little shady to walk around.The hotel itself was alright considering its price. Toilet was cleaned daily. Rooms were clean. There was a basin in the room but the common washroom did not have one.

Liked: good value for money, quite near metro stations which was handy. wouldn't walk around the area in the middle of the night by myself but the hotel itself seemed fairly safe.

Liked: The building excellent very clean and tidy, is situated in central L A. You can have transport any where you want, the reception staff a little unhelpful and little noise especially at night

Liked: It is in the downtown of LA. The surrounding are dangerous, full of homeless people. It has a bus stop in the corner. The recepcion is very good, but the rooms are very small and old.
