Liked: This was more of a hotel than a hostel as there are no communal areas. It was fine for us as a couple though. Room and location were excellent and staff were very sweet but could not speak English but this did not matter as only in the town for a couple of days and right in the centre.

Liked: A really clean hotel with a very nice feel, hugh double beds, clean towels everyday, definatly for couples or individuals who just want a nice room to sleep in, no communal facilities. Staff very helpful.

Liked: The friendliest and most obliging staff we met at any hostel. A fantastic old building with beautiful spacious rooms, and a wonderful old 1920's lift. And a fantastic location, really close to the main Plaza. Not so great for meeting people, but fantastic if that's not what you're after.

Liked: It´s a very old building with a really cool old elevator. The rooms on the sixth floor have huge balconies and are worth the extra money. The staff (who don´t really speak english) are really helpful and kind. Keep in mind, it´s not a hostel, but a hotel. No kitchen, but there are small refrigerators in the rooms.

Liked: The old building is very nice. It is an hotel, so it isn`t a goog place to get in contact with other travellers.(it is descibed as an hotel, so no critisicm) But if you travel as an couple or with some friends it is an very goog place to stay.

Liked: Stunning with lots of character, huge balcony, TV, Fidge, bath - what else could a weary traveller ask for. GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY right in the heart of it. Pity Montevideo is a dump.

Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice to spend the night in a hotel and to have a change from the normal hostel atmosphere. Probably better for couples than for people looking for a party atmosphere. Great location.

Liked: Very Friendy and helpful staff. The ensuite had a lovely big bath with plenty of hot water. The hotel has character being in the old part of town. The higher up the building the better views.

Liked: The lady on reception was incredibly helpful, gave us a map of the city, recomended places to visit, eat etc. Told us where was safe to walk at night. Hostel in great location in centre of shopping and restaurants, well lit area at night. Super clean rooms with huge bathrooms and a big bath, cable tv and lovely balcony!!!! Couldn´t fault this hotel for couples but probably not good for party animals or those looking to meet other travellers.
