Liked: The location was fantastic, a four block walk to the main plaza and very close to the action.

Disliked: At first, they didn't even have our reservation, we were just lead to a room with a random woman and child when we had booked a private room. When we eventually got to our room (which they refused to acknowledge that we booked) the walls were filthy, the amenities were ancient and the bed felt like it was going to break in half. Not to mention the odour... The porters lacked enthusiasm for their job - you have to leave the key at the front desk but sometimes there would be nobody there; very unsafe and unprofessional. The breakfast was a joke! Weak, terrible coffee served with tiny, sugary croissants, in the dirtiest dining room I have ever seen, not exactly what we were hoping for after paying a ridiculous amount of money for a room. Go elsewhere - this place was the pits but fortunately did not deter from the beauty of Montevideo.

Liked: Old building (colonial) top location friendly no english speaking personnel very old dorms for the price you pay ok, you are on the heart of de city with transport to go everywhere. Claudia.

Liked: It's central location is probably it's best feature. I have no complaints about the hotel or it's services, but it's definitely not the Ritz. Didn't care for Montevideo at all, though.

Liked: Great value for money - we had a decent sized room with two private balconies. It's hotel standards (it's a hotel), but at hostel prices.

Liked: the location is super, and if you have a room with balcony it is very nice, although as every city noisy.

Liked: The location is excellent, staff very helpful and friendly. It is very used by Uruguayan people from different parts of the country, so you get to be in touch with their culture and learn more about them.I recommend the rooms the are not facing the main avenue, as it can be quite noise.The hotel is simple, but you get very well accommodate (rooms with private toilet, tv, telephone, clean towels and sheets) for a very low price.
