Naz Wooden House is a small historic hotel with unique atmosphere. It is built upon the remains of the city walls and renovated from an Ottoman house. It is only couple of minutes walk to Blue Mosque. There are 7 private ensuite rooms with A/C decorated with wooden and handmade garments. About Naz Wooden House Inn

Naz Wooden House is a small attractive hotel in the heart of old Istanbul. It belongs to one of the well-known Turkish travel groups who have broad travel experience.

It is in walking distance to the most important Byzantine and Ottoman monuments of Istanbul, such as St. Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Hippodrome, Basilica Cistern and not more than 10 minutes to Grand Bazaar.

The open buffet breakfast is served at beautiful wooden terrace looking to the sea,old wooden houses and Blue Mosque in summers and in the ancient hall during the cold winter days and preferred by the guests for listening traditional Turkish music.

It has 7 lovely rooms with private bath, air-conditioning, Cable TV, hair-dryer and minibar.

We have also free internet service for our guests in the common area.

Please note that we provide airport transfer service for our guests through our travel agency. The cost of this service is 25 euros for one way from the Ataturk airport and 60Euros from Sabiha Gokcen airport. If you would like to take the advantage of this smooth service please inform us with your flight details in advance.

At the airport, you will be greeted by a courteous member of our staff who will load your luggage into our mini-van and take you directly to your hotel.

Accommodation Information

An important detail distinguishing Naz from other wooden houses is that it also contains the remains of an older building made of stone which dates back to the 8th century and is thought to be a secondary building of the Byzantine Palace. The remnants of the historic building are preserved in the interior walls of Naz, as are the some of the original Byzantine arches and columns. This makes the Naz Wooden House Inn unique. Although some part of the building was unfortunately destroyed, with the consent of the Commission for Ancient Monuments, Naz Wooden House Inn was rebuilt with its exterior as an exact replica of the original home.

Location Information

Naz Wooden House Inn is not close to the commercial site of Sultanahmet; but in the residential part of it, the Ahirkapi district, where the daily life still goes on without much effected from the growing tourism activities in the area. Ahirkapi district is also known as the residence of Turkish gipsies that makes it more colorful and rich as a survivor of a glorious culture heritage. The area is under protection now because of the historical wooden houses slightly remaining in the city. Among these houses is the Naz Wooden House Inn, 'a 130 years-old unique house that has recently restored.'
