Liked: This hotel is excellent value for money. The room i stayed in (102) was very cozy and had a door straight onto the garden. The staff are very friendly and a decent breakfast buffet was provided. I'd highly recommend the Hotel Sarahan and will stay here again.

Liked: This hotel is absolutely incredible! As a student, it was afforable, had great facilities and room ammenities, great location right on the water on one side and overlooking the city on the other; not to mention the amazing Turkish breakfasts!

Disliked: It was a bit hard to find and we walked through a slumy area, which is purely a residential neighborhood, but could be a bit frightening at night.

Liked: The rooms were beautiful, and the staff was fantastic. It's also a LOVELY location. The breakfast was so fantastic! We will miss the yoghurt and the amazing varieties of jams.

Liked: Breakfast with a good variety. Room was very comfortable, clean, spacious and well heated. Staff were very helpful. It was 10-15mins walk to the tram station (a little difficult with luggages) but still in Sultanhamet area.

Liked: this place was great, the staff were very helpful, room spacious and clean, breakfast was awesome and the roof top terrace gives you a wonderful view of the city. great location - short walk to the blue mosque, lots of great places to eat and very safe.

Disliked: our room was on the first level and a bit noisy (due to building work and kids playing basketball across the road all the time) and the street light shone straight through the window, a little annoying when trying to sleep - maybe ask if you can get a room on a higher floor or at the back of the hotel.

Liked: An exceptional hotel, we arrived at airport at 1am and used their taxi service which was cost effective. The decor was Turkish but not overdone, breakfast terrace and room balcony were lovely. The room and hotel was immaculate and tasteful. Quiet helpful well informed staff. Free tea, coffee and water useful. One of the best internationally we have stayed in

Disliked: the restaurant they recommended one night was good food but really bizarre service!

Liked: The location of this hotel was within 5-10 min walking distance of all the main sites in Istanbul

Disliked: Their is only one lap-top to share in the main lobby. It seemed it was always in use by a quest. Possibly get another lap-top?

Liked: The room was big and very comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good value for money.

Disliked: It can be difficult to reach the first time, but once you know where it is, that's not an issue. (Maybe better indications about how to get there would be enough). Very close to Sultanhamet Mosque and Aya Sofia in an area which is not packed with tourists.

Liked: This hotel is located away from the crowded and noisy tourist section of Sultanhamet, yet is a short walk to all the major attractions. The rooms are nicely decorated, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast on the terrace is excellent with homemade foods.

Liked: The neighbourhood around has a character, it was nice to return home through narrow winding streets with small local cafes. The terrace on the roof has good views, especially during the sun set. There is a computer with internet and you can make tea in the lobby.

Liked: very helpful staff, brilliant breakfast with delicious homemade jams, close to all major sites yet on the edge of the tourist area so felt part of local community. The hotel has a great terrace with views of blue mosque and was great value for money. wi fi available and also use of lap top.

Disliked: tea facitiies not in room but in communal area.

Liked: I liked everything about this hotel! The staff was very friendly, price and quality combination very good, everyday cleaning and the rooms and bathroom looked really nice and clean. What they say at the website and what the other travellers tell, is true!!!! Me and my husband had a really great time during our stay, no dislikes at all. We didnt tried the breakfast because we were sleeping so much, but if i rate the hotel, then i also think that would be good. If you like walking, everything is also really close! Aya Sofia and Sultan Ahmet plus minus 15 minutes and the kapali carsi (big bazar) 20 minutes.

Liked: The place is nearly perfect compared to the price. The room was really beautiful and clean. There are a lot of local and original Turkish things to eat for breakfast.

Disliked: The hostel is a bit difficult to the find the first time when coming by yourself from airport.

Liked: All of the desk staffs during my stay were really helpful on giving out information on travelling within Istanbul. They even helped me out with some other travel planning outside Istanbul. Besides that,the hostel has a pleasant interior.

Disliked: Nothing in particular,except that there was an intermittent (not frequent, 3 times tops) blackout on the second night of my stay and anpther one on the last day when i was having breakfast. Other tham that the service was good.
