Liked: Sila Resort is a fantastic place and a gem of a find! You could not ask for more - the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, they really couldn't do enough for us. There were constant smiles from all the staff and it really did feel like we were in the "land of smiles"! There was a free pick up from the bus station, free drop off back at the bus station at the end of our trip and free transport into town to the bus stop to get the bus to Old Sukothai. There were free bikes at the guesthouse available for any guest to use, free internet and computer for guests' use. The food was great and very reasonably priced. All in all, I wouldn't stay anywhere else if visiting Sukothai again.

Disliked: The only slight issue was that I had a single room and the wall between my room and my neighbour's was paper thin. Then again, we were only paying about 200 baht a night so can't really complain.

Liked: Sila hade a real resorty feel on the cheap, so cheap in fact we often felt quilty about the staff running around to help us. We met some great people but not so many poeple our age seems like a place for older travellers. Our room was small and boxy but had a big bed and who hangs out in bedrooms anyway. Initially we thought we were a while from town but its only a 20 min walk along the river through lanes not on the busy main road. The free bikes were great and the free transport to the buses heading to old sukhothai were great too.

Disliked: The only issue we had was when one of the old bikes broke, through no fault of our own and they tried to charge us, we felt a bit ripped off but they didn't end up charging us. If you are staying make sure you get a newer looking bike!

Liked: The manager as well as the general staff of Sila Resort were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. They even picked us up from the bus station after a day trip to the ruins for free. Excellent place!

Disliked: Well, the street to the resort was flooded. But this is obviously not their fault.

Liked: I recently stayed at a place where I felt like the guesthouse did not, in fact, want guests -- but the opposite was true for Sila. I loved this place. They picked me up from the bus stop with a warm and friendly smile, and that kindness carried right up until they dropped me off at the bus stop again two days later. The food in the restaurant was good, the wifi worked from my room, the showers were hot. I loved that they had a garage full of free bicycles available and I could explore as I wanted.

Disliked: My room had ants, but I think that's an issue with every hostel and hotel in this area.

Liked: The most friendly/helpful staff I have met so far in thailand. It looks nice, a bit too much kitsch, but with a lot of love for the details, nice place =)

Disliked: There were a few bugs in the bed, not a big problem (after you killed the few of them, there were no more to "pop out"), but its only fair to mention it in terms of cleanliness, still a very nice place!

Liked: I stayed in a dorm but was able to take advantage of everything the resort had to offer. The dorm room did not have lockers, though you could have the staff hold valuables in their safe. As for location - it is a lovely quiet spot and very convenient for the bus station. However, if you want to be just outside the ruins in Old Sukhothai, this may not be your best option. Having said that - it is VERY easy to get to the ruins and the staff are extremely nice and helpful. The restaurant has a good selection and is reasonably priced. They do not actually have wifi, but there is a shared computer for guests to use. I extended my stay for one extra day of relaxation I liked it so much.

Disliked: Victoria left no negative feedback.
