Liked: Very big rooms, free water, close to Khao San road and grand palace. Very helpful staff and a good tourist information desk with tours an bus tickets and the lot. Had a great sty and we are back in a week after visiting Chiang Mai.

Liked: The location of the hotel is perfect to explore the city: close to the banglamphu streets with bars and restaurants and also close to a river express stop. The hotel is quiet at night and has a good travel/ trip agency which doesn't take commission.Only con was that a plastic bag with some dirty clothes was taken from our hotel room???! (while other expensive stuff was still in place)

Liked: Brilliant breakfast, very clean rooms, helpful tourist information in hotel, great location only 5-10mins from Khao San Road and next to a street with loads of great restaurants (much cheaper than Khao San Road), cafes and massage places.

Liked: This was a great place to start a trip round Thailand- easing us in gently to the craziness of Bangkok! It was safe, quiet and comfortable, but certainly not a party-place. Breakfast is interesting!

Liked: Quite okay place. In a nice location very close to Khaosan Road, but not on it. So quite perfect location in many ways. Staff is very friendly, almost too much, as they hang around with you like your friends. It's still a bit more luxury than Backbacker guesthouses, it's anyway a HOTEL. The view is not the best one, but in Bangkok it's hard to find a very good view. Good thing was nice really professional "non-ping-pong" thai massage and a very good travel service that helps you to build quite good budget trips everywhere in Thailand (or even outside...). I took a combined Bangkok-Chiang Mai-Phuket-Phi Phi-Bangkok travel for six days with three excursions, five hotel nights and three flights with 16000 baht (= 285 pounds). The rooms are a bit more expensive than in guesthouses, but they're maybe a bit nicer and larger too, with also nicer service.

Liked: - space: grand rooms with a good sized bathroomThis is the main reason why I would recommend this hotel. There are better options closer to Khao San Road. But if you like to stay at a spacious hotel in a more quieter neighbourhood, the NWCH is a good alternative. However, construction near the hotel could cause some nuisance.
