Liked: Nice hotel at the Beach in the middle of nowhere. All excursions pick you up to go other places. A few restaurants from 30 minutes to 1 hour walking. Safe beach to walk around. Nice breakfast, but extremely slow. Nice dinner at a reasonable price. Free wifi and computer to share. Many games and nice swimming pool. Safe to walk in the night, but very very dark because there are no public lights at the beach or in the village.

Disliked: As there is not really a village center in Jambiani or Paje, it is a hotel in the middle of nowhere. They offer excursions extremely expensive, so it is better to book them at the beach, where you meet the beach boys. Extremely slow staff, very lazy. Impossible to have breakfast before 8.00 AM. Imposible to ask for a picnic breakfast. They killed flies during the evening, but they don't clean all the dead bodies until dinner time, so you can see in the dining room 50 or 100 dead flies just half an hour before dinner. Nice dinner, but a lack of local fish. Only Tuna, Barracuda and King fish, but better than just chiken.

Liked: the location was stunning, in between paje and jambiani the beach was absolutely beautiful. the pool was good as well as the hammocks and chairs dotted about the place. a perfect and peaceful place to relax.

Disliked: felt very unsafe at night, i didn't even want to walk from the onsite restaurant to my bungalow alone. doors of bungalows also don't feel very secure as well as the shutters on the windows meaning I didn't sleep very well at night. also order your food well in advance at the restaurant.

Liked: On the beach! Nice pool! Interesting to walk beach on low tide. Clean Rooms. Good ocean view. Not many mosquetos. Bed and Net very nice. Very good price......Will go back there!

Disliked: Old towels and linen, but clean. Simple breakfast, but for this amount of money good value.

Liked: Very close to the beach with a beautiful saltwater pool and beach. Good value for money.

Disliked: The restaurant was overpriced so we ate elsewhere. Also the staff were not always very attentive, but were pleasant.

Liked: Very relaxed atmosphere - the stretch of beach in front of us wasn't frequented as much as other parts of Jambiani and Paje with beach boys, so it felt more private (Although it was quite rocky and you had to wait till very high tide to swim in the warm waters, or walk nearly a KM out in the morning low tide for nice sand under your feet). Nice covered swinging chairs among the trees, hammocks, ping pong table, etc......the people were lovely, friendly, and the place was spotless.

Disliked: The restaurant was a hit and miss -sometimes providing great fresh fish but mostly nothing special. And the service is a bit difficult given that they speak mostly Swahili and little English. Sometimes they remember to bring you your breakfast but the cutlery comes 20min later - hakuna matata! Probably better off going to Pakachi or Villa de Cocco next door, or in the town of Paje for dinner.

Liked: although this was the cheapest accommodation we had it was better than the more expensive ones in some way, more to do with the feel of the place which is a bit less tangible to describe. Bonfires on the beach great atmosphere really enjoyed it here. I don't remember reading about a pool but they do have one which is great.

Liked: The rooms were nice and decorated with cute African work - lots of character. The rooms were in small bungalows with only 2 rooms per bungalow, which provided some nice privacy. The hammocks by the beach were a great place to read/nap, and the hotel could arrange trips for snorkeling, dolphin-watching, and other day activities.

Liked: This hostel was the cheapest on the Paje / Jambiani strip of hotels. However, there are also other hotels like Paradise Beach Bungelow which charges only a bit more for a much better atmosphere, facilities and beach front. I ended up leaving Mbuyuni early and moving to Paradise Beach Bungelow for the remainder of my stay in Zanzibar.
