Liked: I loved the perfectly manicured gardens and the view. It also has its own character, very authentic, and friendly staff.

Disliked: 1) location is terrible, it's in the middle of nowhere - and all taxis charge 5 EUR at least for a very short ride to the village. Of course, longer trips are charged following the same pattern. 2) beach is non existent - they have stones all the way to the ocean, a strip of beach is available in the morning, but quite a walk away. 3) English speaking staff - while they're friendly, not all of them speak English, I sometimes had to ask a waitress for something and she'd get the other waitress to interpret.

Liked: Hotel was small and gorgeous, really friendly amicable staff and wonderfully relaxed atmosphere.

Liked: The location was absolutely stunning with gorgeous views out over the Indian Ocean. The rooms were lovely and the staff were very helpful. Tanzanite is probably better for couples than a group as it is a little bit away from the main stretch in Nungwi, but we found this to be a good thing and you can walk or get a taxi. It's a perfect place to relax. Highly recommened.
