Location Information

Wengen is located 1,274 meters above sea level, on a wind-sheltered sun terrace at the foot of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains and 400 meters above the Lauterbrunnen Valley. This traditional holiday resort offers a ski and hiking paradise around the Männlichen-Kleine Scheiddegg and Eiger Glacier.

Since 1893 one has been able to get to Wengen on the Wengernalpbahn (Railway) from Lauterbrunnen, as there is no road to the village. More than 1,000 inhabitants live in Wengen all year round. The top events are the international Lauberhorn ski races and the Jungfrau Marathon.
