Liked: The property was centrally located for the old town and the tram line into the city. The room was a good size with a good view over the old city and the hills beyond. The room was a good size and it was basic but comfy and cosy.

Disliked: The hotel is located by the river but just into a dirty part of town with a red light area and clubs just up the road.

Liked: Cheap, ensuite bathroom, air conditioning, location - was easy to get everywhere by walking, one computer with internet and wifi in the reception area.

Disliked: My friend got a bite on the first night, it was a bit dusty, receptionists were very unfriendly - especially the older ones, hairdryer didn't work - but we had our own, wifi didn't work in our room

Liked: I read a few comments about this place before booking, and I was worried about the area as that seemed to be one of the main things complained about. I actually thought the area was allright. The rooms were clean and there was wi-fi.

Disliked: The staff could learn to be a lot nicer and there was no breakfast. As soon as I got there the guy kinda looked at me like, oh, you're the one staying in the shared room, as apparently they mostly have private rooms.

Liked: It was very clean and quiet. Location near the old town and the train station was a definite bonus. I ended up sleeping in a room by myself with 5 empty bunks. The bathroom was very nice, more like a hotel bathroom than a youth hostel. Lockers were in rooms and large enough to hold all of my luggage. Free internet in lobby for 20 minutes, but the person at reception let me use it for over an hour since no one was waiting.

Disliked: Felt very cold and empty. There are few comforts, no one in the common room and it was very quiet. I think I may have been the only traveler staying in the hostel beds--everyone else looked much older. This property is really more of a Spanish "pension" or "hostal" than a youth hostel. They must have just taken some bunk beds and put them in a few rooms and charged by the bed rather than the room. I didn't feel unsafe, but as a lone female traveler, it was sort of spooky at night. Apparently this is near the disreputable/red light district part of town, but I didn't go out after dark since I was tired and trying to sleep, so I can't attest to that.

Liked: Price, clean rooms, nice bathroom, near to old town

Disliked: Area is (as others have noted) a bit rough, definitely worth walking to the new town area along the river rather than trying to cut through town, especially if you´re female.

Liked: Bilbao is such a small town that it's easy to walk to everywhere from this hostel. Actually this is an hotel with real rooms so they have higher standard than regular hostel. So it´s clean and quiet.

Disliked: Not much ambiance but that's ok, I was able to get real nights of sleep.

Liked: Very well situated. Easy walk along riverside, then 5 min walk, from centre. Very handy for Old Town, Ribera market, tram to Guggenheim etc. Very clean and comfy. Friendly staff.

Disliked: No dislikes.

Disliked: the old town is two blocks in one direction and the ghetto is two blocks in the other direction.

Liked: lean rooms and Across the River from the "7 Streets" Far from Train Station though, but Easy if you take the Tram to the Ribera Stop.

Liked: For the price I paid the room was very nice. It was modern, well kept and I had access to a balcony. I had a double bed even though I had only booked for one person and was pleased to find I had a television.

Disliked: The location could have been better; it was very close to the old town which was nice, but it was not in the safest area of Bilbao. Even the taxi driver who took me there warned me about it! Perhaps not one for small groups of girls if they are going to go out at night...
