Liked: The breakfast was absolutely fantastic - a full self service buffet with every hot and cold item you could possiby wish for. You would have to stay a whole week to be able to take full advantage of all the options. Soap and shower gel were provided. There was a lovely view of Arthur's Seat.

Disliked: The room was very basic and not particularly inviting. The bed was a standard single. I don't like the duvet covers that don't do up at the end so the duvet starts to slide out in the night. It was perfectly adequate but just wasn't as nice as the other Edinburgh student accommodation I booked through hostel bookers last year.

Liked: Reasonably priced accommodation for single travellers. Not in walking distance from train station, you'll need to hop on bus. Ride is about 5 min away. Buses sometimes infrequent. But overall not too shabby.

Disliked: Rooms typical uni dorms- little old looking and lacking character.

Liked: Absolutely great breakfast! I didn't expect it in an accomodation like that. A great choice of cold and hot meals, very tasty and fresh prepared, even with fair trade coffee/tea/rice and free range eggs!

Disliked: It's no dislike from me because I knew it before: But you have to be aware that it's a students' home and a big canteen.

Disliked: The car park was full for the duration of my stay, it was a huge disapointment as i was forced to leave the car in a nearby park and spend money i wasn't expecting.

Liked: Lovely location,very quiet (especially when you think that it is a student hall)

Liked: The security is AMAZING!!! I also liked having my own room so I could repack before leaving.

Disliked: It was a little loud, with all the young Americans running around for the festival, but it's a dorm room, so it's to be expected.

Liked: The Breakfast was fantastic, the sheets were soft and clean, never had to wait for a shower, the staff was extremely friendly and I was never not greeted with a smile, while I was there it was quiet as everyone that was staying there was very respectful and it wasn't a crazy party hostel, you were able to sleep soundly through the night. the location was good as it was far enough out of downtown/ busy streets so there was no loud traffic or drunk people keeping you up by yelling on the streets. it was about 20 minute walk maybe 30 minutes to hot spots but the walk is nice also. It was worth every penny I spent.

Disliked: the only thing that sucked about this place was that it was so good I never wanted to leave. it made every other hostel/hotel look like a halfway house.

Liked: The place is beautiful (nice classic buildings mixed with modern ones), very clean and it has everything one may need. Bathrooms are nice and clean. Staff take care of you in details. Since it's close to the hills, you've got a very nice view every morning and every sunset. Self-service laundry really handy! It's very quiet too. Although not close to "city centre" (as written by them), there are buses for 1,30 pounds or taxis for 5 pounds at the front door. Really easy! Super worthy!

Disliked: Couldn't see as many foxes as I wanted too... there were only 3 playing around during the night! ;-) Place is just great!

Liked: It is located at the lovely Hollyrood area, very close to "Arthur's Seat", so it is nice and peaceful. Rooms, bathrooms and the hostel itself outside the rooms are clean. Breakfast is great.

Disliked: I booked room for one and had to share the bathroom, but of course, it is something that they cannot change. I wasn't that bad to share anyway, we didn't have to queue up as there were many bathrooms on the floor.

Liked: It was in a great location, the bathroom had a bath as well as a shower, there were lots of facilities in general

Disliked: Inside the building I was staying it was a little difficult to find my room at first, it was easy to get lost

Liked: The environment is beautiful, right at the foot of Arthur's Seat. The room was very comfortable and clean. The free breakfast is simply amazing. You can eat as much as you want and there are so many things to choose from.

Disliked: If you want a quiet night, take earplugs with you. The internet is pricy.
