Liked: It was reasonably cheap and close to the beach

Disliked: It was dirty, unclean,damp and smelly. There was no door on the bathroom and the moldy walls and ceilings were badly covered up with old sheets.

Liked: It was clean

Disliked: Describing it as being in "Sintra" is misleading, it is a 30 minute drive away. On arrival, no staff were present, but fortunately another hostel guest was around to give us a phone number to call. If they had not been there, we would have been stranded with no room access. There was apparently a staff member on duty, but he was no where to be found.

Liked: It's a funky place - you'll be basically staying at a house of a surfer family with all the other people intersted in surfing. It was an interesting change from all the regular hostels and hotels and a nice place to socialise in a very imformal atmosphere. The location is not exactly central, the village is about 20 km from Sintra, and you most probably need a car to feel comfortable getting there.

Liked: 2 mins to the beach. Surf lessons and Simon's family....they make you feel welcome.

Liked: very laid back ,friendly relaxed and interesting. hostel was also a surf school which was a bit of a surprise as we are in our late fifties! good fun though
