Liked: This is a cheap hotel, not a hostel. Therefore this would suit people who like quiet and peaceful places, a little out of town but a good bus service is available. Also near supermarkets and shops. In a local neighbourhood. Service was good though you pay for all extras, even though you don´t have to buy their water at three times the going rate. Breakfast is reasonable though the same everyday.

Disliked: This hotel is not for people who like parties, the bright lights or want to be very near eveything. In fact these types of people will probably not be in Madeira in the first place. It is not for young families or large groups, more for more mature travellers and couples.

Liked: If you don't wanna stay in centro, this is nice option, quiet and beautiful area.

Disliked: I made a reservation to stay in a four-people dorm, but actually got a normal twin room with bathroom inside and a man guest living there (I'm 26 years old woman). The receptionist was telling me that I was stupid because I had even chosen the dorm-option in the first place. I've stayed in enough of dorms to know what is a dorm and what's not. So I was pushed to pay double price to get a room where I could stay alone. I wouldn't have booked the "dorm" if I had known it's not a dorm and that it's only a twin room! Terrible service.

Liked: Lovely, efficient little hotel. Good facilities and resteraunt. Helpful, pleasant staff. Good breakfast.Villa Camacho had not recieved notification of my booking and I had to be moved to a different property next day which was inconvenient.

Liked: Very clean, polite staff, but not a real hostel. Much more a very cheap and very good hotel then a hostel that I'm used to. Good doble ensuite room with bathroom for only 11,50 euros per night each person. Highly recommended for who is going in couple.

Liked: good price for what you get. Nice rooms, very clean. Nice little place. friendly people. not directly down town, but very easy to get there by local bus.

Liked: Lovely hotel. We booked a four bed dorm but ended up with a private double room which was fantastic. It is outside of the city center but its nice and quiet. It was good value for the money we payed for our room. The restaurant is a little expensive and there is no place to cook your own food. The pool area was nice. Some of the staff were quite friendly. The paper they give you at check in says that there is a free breakfast but when we turned up it cost EUR 6 per person for us. overall it was an excellent stay and i would return.

Liked: The customer service from the waiters was great! There was a small swimming pool at the back; ideal for a quick dip & a layabout near the pool, reading. There was also a small library. The Super-Bock beer was crispy & fresh & not easy to find in other parts of Madeira. The outdoor garden-cum-eating area was lovely!
