Exit airport towards Funchal/ Ribeira Brava.
After passing exit 10, go to left hand lane. Exit 9 is unusual, having one slip road to the left and right. Take the left.
Leave at exit 9 from left hand lane, signed “Hospital”.
Go to roundabout.
Take 3rd exit at roundabout. After 0.4km note the "A Morgadina" restaurant on the left. There is a small road just before it that you will be turning into later. You are not allowed to cross a solid white line in middle of road.
Go down hill and through tunnel. On leaving the tunnel get into left lane. You will see a tattoo studio on the far side of a roundabout type road junction. Stay in left through lane (not one for car park) + use roundabout to reverse your direction, following signs to the hospital so that you re-enter the tunnel in the opposite direction (Northbound).
When you exit tunnel, stay right past the ´Hotel Sao Joao´ + take next road right. The QSJ is 25m along this road on the right hand side.
