Liked: The place was very homy and warm. Love the toilet with sea-themed toilet covers LOL. Staffs were very friendly. We managed to get a room with a sea view directly opposite the place. Gorgeous!

Liked: We had a beautiful, immaculate room overlooking the bay - more like a hotel. The kitchen was really well-equipped and the communal areas were great. Not the place to go if you want to party but perfect for a good night's sleep!

Disliked: It is quite far out from Wellington, about half an hour on the train but had free parking so was ideal for us.

Liked: Moana Lodge was incredible. We really enjoyed our stay there and the staff were incredibly and kind all the time. The view of the water was incredible and it was lovely waking up to the sound of waves in the morning. Free coffee in the morning was awesome too!

Disliked: it was a little hard to get to wellington city from Moana Lodge

Liked: The hostel has a great setting next to the sea in Plimmerton with a fab view of the sunset from their roomy lounge. Kitchen and dining area were good and our double room was a good size, clean, and with a great view of its own.If you have your own transport then the location out of Wellington really didn't matter - only took 20 mins to get into town.If you need something to occupy you in the evening then they have a couple of portable TVs that you can borrow as well.

Liked: The best hostel we have ever stayed at. It was above and beyond expectation and certainly sets the bar for other hostels. Owners are lovely and the accommodation is in a perfect location and incredibly clean. Wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be returning and recommending.

Liked: Great hostel!!! Cosy place in Plimmerton near Wellington. Friendly staff. Well-equipped kitchen. Very clean.

Liked: There should be an EXCELLENT section on this rating system just for this lodge. We could only unfortunately stay one night but would DEFINITELY return!!!! Was absolutely fantastic!!!!

Liked: It is close to the ocean and the atmosphere is very relaxed. It is only 30 minutes by train and you are in lively Wellington. If you just want to relax - you can stay in the Hostel or walk along the ocean.
