Liked: The location was very convenient. Very easy to get around Amsterdam from Marnixstraat.

Disliked: Marnixstraat is a noisy street and it can be hard to sleep at night.

Liked: Staff. They were extremely fiendly and helpful.

Disliked: Nothing in particular - we found everything that is needed for a short stay.

Liked: I came with no expectations at all, but at the end of my staying I was quite satisfied. People (staff) here are nice, very helpfull and always around if you need them. Place is clean and save enough. Their self-serviced breakfast was really welcome in the morning. I really enjoyed my staying there and have also met few really interesting people. I think staying there was worth its money.

Disliked: I didn't mind it, but the only think people might bother is the distance from the central station. It took me 20-30min walk to get there. But you can get there much faster by public traffic. Though the location is great because it is not far away from flower market and main attractions, museums, shopping alleys, restaurants and coffe shops.

Liked: It was expensive, but cheap for Amsterdam. It certainly is not as bad as I had seen it described. It was clean, fresh sheets and towels provided, breakfast included was pretty good. Free use of safes. Location was ok, 10-15 mins to Dam Square and tram and bus stops are nearby (but you only need those if laden down by luggage because everything is walking distance). Staff were helpful.

Disliked: No common room, so not the place to meet people. Internet is ridiculously expensive (1 euro for 10 mins) but there is a place across the road that does 2 euros an hour which is a bit better. 1 shower between 10 led to cold showers for those at the end of the queue.

Liked: It's location was good.

Disliked: It was filthy - the toilets for the dormitory were disgusting and covered in urine. There was a massive row in our dormitory at approximately 3am because someone who was not supposed to be there had managed to get into the room and take someone elses bed! As 3 females travelling together, we did not feel safe and we rearranged our accommodation for the final night.

Liked: The location is very good, within walking distance of the Anne Frank House (about 10 mins), the red light district (about 20 mins) and close by to many shops & restaurants. There is also free wifi in the lobby and the rooms are pretty clean. If prompted, the staff will help you a bit and there are some helpful maps & guides free in the hostel. There is a coffee shop accross the road (literally like 20 metres) but there is a much nicer one about a 5 - 10 minute walk away,

Disliked: The staff are pretty bad, they all seem bored and unfriendly and act like it's a big inconvenience if you ask them for help. They don't seem to care about their guests at all. We paid 15 euro on this site per night but they then tried to charge us 30 per night (55 euro on weekends) to extend our stay. The bathroom is horrible but at least it's in your room. The breakfast is free but only available between 7.30 and 9.30 which is pretty early! The atmosphere was pretty lacking too unfortunately.

Liked: Good location. Twenty minute walk into town along one of the main shopping streets so walk doesn't seem that bad. Free breakfast is always appreciated too!

Disliked: €1 for ten minutes internet? No thanks. Many hostels have free internet.
