Liked: Good location, nice breakfast, friendly staff.

Disliked: As we were a group of five people, I had booked both a triple and a twin room. By the time we checked in, they had completely changed our reservations, moving us to a four-bed room and a single room, the latter around the corner, about 50 metres away from the reception. I stayed in the four-bed one, and it was quite an unpleasant experience: the room was very small for that number of people, the heater couldn't be turned off and the shower was almost unbearably hot – a bit of a hassle since it was summer at that time (August). Besides that, the room's windows faced another building, allowing a stranger to see or even get into the room if they were open. Another annoying thing was the steep and narrow staircase that gave access to the rooms at the main building.

Liked: Superb location, friendly staff, very impressive and clean apartment (across from the main building) - absolutely loved everything about i!

Disliked: a bit insecure, the windows faced another building so everyone could see the room, lighting was poor, the main door did not have a secure lock.

Liked: good value for money, clean, very central location (a bit busy for summer visits) happy hour discounts in bar and coffeeshop.

Disliked: the steep narrow staircase! not very good if like me you dont travel light!

Liked: The rooms are perfect for stoners, The location was excellent and the mini bar was a nice touch, without being too pricey.

Disliked: Waking up in the morning covered in disgusting bed bug bites which are still swollen and itchy 4 days later. I would of rated this hotel top for everything but I've never stayed somewhere that has bed bugs and that for me is unforgiveable. Such a shame.

Liked: Location and staff

Disliked: The bedding was not the best, the noise was awful. As we were older than 90% of the other people staying I think our comments are such because of our age (50+) so maybe we should have picked a place less 'young'. I am sure the young would love this place with the coffee shop below. The room decoration was a bit tacky but bearable.

Liked: Great central location - close to the Dam, Central Station and Red Light District, plus local bars and cafes. Hotel room for clean and spacious.

Disliked: The loud music from the neighbouring bars, but with some good earplugs you hardly noticed anything! Could do with some airconditioning in the rooms as was extremely hot in August.

Liked: Perfect location for a funny stay in Amsterdam. Combination of Hotel, Bar and Coffee-Shop is just perfect. You dont have to leave the building for an amusing time

Liked: very laid back establishment fun to stay at and staff are very friendly and helpful i would definatley stay there again and hopefully goin back in 2012 i would recommend the greenhouse effect to my friends i really enjoyed myself and so did my 2 friends who where with me cant wait to go back loved it

Disliked: i had no dislikes about this hotel everything was perfect lets just say!!!!!!

Liked: Stayed in a 4-bed apartment and it was clean, well-equipped and in a great location.

Disliked: We were 2 couples staying in the apartment, so it would have been nice if there were doors separating the rooms

Liked: The cleanliness is the best quality of this place.

Disliked: As I´m not a smoker so I didn´t like to stay above a coffeshop, where people smoke too much, and I didn´t like having the breakfast with people smoking. So, if the person like to smoke this is the perfect place, but if don´t, like me, this can be very unpleasant.

Liked: Staff were helpful and friendly and great view from our room.

Disliked: Unfortunately the shower's hot water wasn't working and it was fixed only after our 3rd day there. Shouldn't have taken that long for them to call the plumber!
