Liked: The staff was amazingly helpful and courteous, from offering Nepali tea upon arrival to offering you transportation. The facility was extremely clean! With several upstairs patios, backyard garden and roof deck! And the location was convenient especially nice it is off the beaten path.

Liked: The staff were fantastic - our flight was delayed by 2 hours and yet we were still picked up from the airport (FOR FREE!!!!) & upon arrival we were offered a free beverage. The room was lovely & the courtyard is just gorgeous! Breaky was reasonably priced & there was free wifi! Definitely enjoyed our stay here and will be back when we return to Kathmandu!

Liked: The staff, location, garden, free airport pickup and free internet

Disliked: The room was cold and the electrical heater emits too much light during the night. Note that electricity cuts off very frequently in Kathmandu. The hot water lasted only for one bath, the second person had a cold shower

Liked: This was the best place we stayed in during our whole trip. The room was clean, spacious, the grounds were beautiful and well looked after, and the staff was excellent! We couldn't have asked for nicer people and a better place to stay. It was close to Thamel, but far enough away to be less busy and loud.

Liked: wow, what can we say? After completing a month long tour in China and staying in crummy accommodation the Ganesh Himal was a breath of fresh air. Hostel does not do it justice, it is more a hotel with amazing rooms, staff and facilities including a beautiful garden and roof terrace AND room service. We cannot fault them in anyway, amazing value for money, we'd stay here again and not hesitate in recommending it. Oh and it's less than 5 mins away from the town centre!

Liked: I found this place to be warm and inviting with helpful, friendly accomodating staff. Internet was free and quite reliable, unlike the $100/night Hotel Himalya that I stayed at the previus week that, like many hotels in Kathmandu, charged an additional $10/day for internet, that turned out to be very slow and kept bumping me off! The cafe was small, but had a good variety of food on the menu. Somewhat removed from Thamal, I found it very quiet. Nice garden area.

Disliked: The room that I got was not like the photo on hostelbookers.

Liked: We had a nice room, small (just as all places in hong kong) but everything in it. Staff in the morning and afternoon was friendly (male) but in the evening not at all (female).

Liked: This is one of the cheapest, cleanest and nicest places in Kathmandu! However, we were unhappy with the service! We booked 5 months in advance and they gave our room away! When we finally got our room the next day we tried to book another couple of nights which they wouldn't help us with! We'd had enough at that point and decided to go elsewhere! But it still is one of the cheapest and cleanest place in Kathmandu!

Liked: The staff weer extremely friendly and helpful. When we arrived we had no plans and the staff organised the whole week's itinery for us, including a mountain flight, transport to and from Chitwan and to and from Pokhara. It was extremely helpful to us. It is obviously no 5 star hotel, but as far as value for money goes, I would recommend this hostel.

Liked: Nice hotel away from the noise of the Thamel, and with nice sized rooms & bathroom. Great hot showers!! May not be the best place to meet people as it is more hotel-like, but you'll still have a great, peaceful stay. We would recommend.

Liked: The cleaness of the facilities is just OK. But the staffs were not honesty and please do not book any trips from their travel desk. We arrived KTM very late, the staffs told us that we had to book the rafting trip as there would be a strike on the next day and all the other travel agencies would be closed. He gave us unreasonable price of $40 for half day rafting, but there're no strike on the next day and all other agencies gave no more than $25 for the same trip. Be careful their price dose not include the tax and service charge and they would not tell you until you check out. We stayed in this hostel for 2 days, all their computer were out of order, so actually we cannot access internet as they described.
