Liked: A good value for money! Some of the staff was pretty helpful and nice. The location was great!

Disliked: We really liked the building but they could use some painting of the walls. Apart from that everything was great!

Liked: quiet, clean, great location! ...and that's about it.

Disliked: Hot water is 6 - 10, am to pm, Not announced. Broken tiles in entry, but clean big rooms for the money. Window broken in cold season, but we fixed it with newspaper and tape and a new shade. Owner is growing older, is tighter with repairs, place is stating to get a little old and forgotten.

Liked: The owner seemed to have limited knowledge (wasn't sure about cost for a taxi to the airport, etc) of some things that seemed basic. Young man working the desk when we got there was VERY good but he left to return to the States a few days before we did. After he left it was several different seemingly inexperienced people. Overall, the place was good and a great location.

Liked: excellent location, friendly and very helpfull staff. The rooms inside de patio are better than the ones in the street side because of the noise. The shower was not very hot.I would recommend this place... good value for the money paid.

Liked: The staff of Hotel Principal, namely Oscar and Gerardo, were very friendly and helpful in every respect. The hotel is great for those travelers that want a clean, no-frills, spartan room (in other words, "a room") with a hell of a lot of character and an honest, hospitable staff. Don't bother booking a room here if you want to blow money on feeling "special".

Liked: This is a perfect location as a base to explore Oaxaca. It is only a few blocks from the main market, zocalo and sights. It is a basic hotel with the amenities you would expect, plus a bonus free coffee in the mornings. It is a bit shabby, but it is clean and the rooms are nice and cool to escape the strong sun of oaxaca! I would definately stay there again as it is excellent value for money.
