Liked: Beautiful little hotel, lovely decor and friendly staff. Excellent location. Big room and bathroom, with plentiful hot water.

Disliked: Swimming pool was a bit small.

Liked: Loved the courtyard and pool! Also very quiet and central to everything. Is not really a "budget" accommodation however. It was one of spendier places we stayed but we were super happy with it.

Liked: The Castlemar Hotel is absolutely the most beautiful and historically interesting lodgings my husband and I found during our two weeks in the Yucatan. Renovations include refurbished beams, gorgeous tiled floors and baths, sunlit balconies, and an azur pool. The staff is gracious and friendly. The families my husband and I met at breakfast in the central courtyard became friends. The place was so perfect and well priced that I hated to leave Campeche to tour the archeological sites and experience the gorgeous beaches of Cancun. I plan to return with my daughter next year and will make the Castlemar my base for more travel throughout the Yucatan.
