Liked: Easy to find. Close to all amenities. Family extremely friendly. Great breakfast and view on the balcony.

Disliked: Partition walls a liitle on thin side if your hearing is good.

Liked: I like everything about Le Bamboo, the owners, especially Reshma who guides me in different ways and gave me lots of travelling tips and where to visit in the island. The room very clean, hot shower, and everything was just perfect.

Liked: The best part of this hostel is definately the most bighearthed and welcoming owner family! "Mr and Mrs Bamboo" were giving their everything to make our stay as perfect as possible. During our stay we felt us as a part of the family, not just quests. The children are great ,wellbeheaved and bighearthed persons too! we are already missing them all! We got married in Mauritius and they helped us to made that happen. We can't never thank enough the great effort of Mrs. and Mr. Bamboo! They made our special day unforgetable: we can recommend this hostel from bottom of our hearth!

Liked: The owners are fantastic and really welcome you into the family. They're happy to help out with anything you need and offer advice about where to explore in the town and around the island. The location on a direct road to the sea and the bus station and market is also good.

Disliked: The profile of this place doesn't state that the restaurant and bar is closed in low season, but the owners can always recommend places near by to eat. The only other issue was that I never had a hot shower here, but each room does have a private bathroom.

Liked: The owners are wonderfully hospitable and helpful - they arranged a tour for us and then they took us out to the cinema to see a bollywood film in the evening,I would recommend this for the proximity to the airport.

Liked: The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The owner picked us up from the airport and drove us back at the end. We were provided with a great breakfast and the rooms were perfectly clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone who is looking for a place near the airport or Blue Bay.

Liked: The family who run this guesthouse are extremely friendly and helpful and provided us with invaluable information when we went on day trips. The hostel is in a quiet location but is just a 5 - 7 minute walk from the waterfront, bus station, market, etc. They also have bikes which came in very handy.

Liked: Le Bamboo is great place to do your travels in Mauritius from. I first was about to stay there three nights, but afterwards i decided to stay all 10 nights! It was because i liked the place, the owners, Rashma and Pravind are really nice. I have been to many places around the world, but Le Bamboo still has got the essence of good hostel. Staff there is just fine, many great tips how to travel around the island i got from them, and it is nice spot to start all your journeys from. Prices are as well good for what you can get, no problems for renting cars and even just borrowing a bike to wander around coast. Location is fine, cause Mahebourg is nice village, close to famous Blue Bay, all the bus connections going everywhere on island are there. You can do even the tour with someone from the hostel around the island. What more do you need to explore Mauritius originaly? Or otherwise you choose an expensive Hotel where you´ll be like in a bubble... then you rather stay home, cause Mauritius got so much to offer.

Liked: Rooms are rather small and a little makeshift and there is just wooded boards dividing some of the rooms - so can be a little noisy! But pleasant enough. Staff incredibly helpful.

Liked: Le Bamboo has a great atmosphere! The people are really friendly and go out of their way to make sure everyone is well-taken care of and can enjoy the sights within Mahebourg, and the surrounding area. I do not speak French very well, and it was nice to know that I was taken care of so I could enjoy my stay. As I was leaving, they were even engaging in further efforts to increase the security of personal belongings and the entertainment available to individuals in their own rooms. It was like staying with a family, only better.

Liked: Very friendly and helpful people, a perfect place to stay for a couple of days. The clean rooms include aircon, tv and dvd, a locker and a small bathroom. It´s especially perfect for all, who want to be active and make some daytrips around the island. If you want to hang around at the beach, you´ll probably find better places to stay. All in all the region around Mahebourg and Blue Bay is the best place to stay in Mauritius with wonderful beaches and fantastic snorkelling in Blue Bay. (Take the trip to Coral Garden! It´s not cheap but worth the money!!)

Liked: The family that runs the place is incredibly friendly and will offer help with anything you need. The food is excellent. Just as an example, one of the daughters in the family had a birthday while I was there. I was invited to the party and she was very excited about it - they are all very warm and welcoming.
