Liked: Thus place was fantastic! We really didn't want to leave! The location is beautiful - right on the river. Loads of character as you eat on a floating restaurant, swim in the river and sleep in a wooden cabin overlooking the river and gardens! The staff are amazing...they are always around to help and will do anything for you. The location is remote but after the hustle and bustle of Vientiane city, this place is just what we needed. Its so peaceful and tranquil. Everywhere is clean and well kept. There are loads of things on offer there - from tubing, trekking to a remote temple, swiming, massage, spa, internet access, lying in a hammock...the list goes on! Everyone is trustworthy and you feel safe with them. The prices are possibly higher than a basic hotel in the city but for what you experience, I would gladly of paid more!

Disliked: Nothing at all!

Liked: It's a beautiful place. Chose this if you want time for yourself, relax and chill out. It's wonderful. I really enjoyed my stay.

Disliked: If you don't like ants, spiders and other bugs - don't go there. There are a lot of them. It is also a bit difficult to get to. There are no free breakfast!

Liked: How long have you got?! I loved everything about the place, except maybe for the ants and the mozzies which come with the package when you're staying in the jungle. If you're feeling in need to escape the tourists in Vientiane and have some much needed chill-out time, this is the place to come. I booked 3 nights and ended up staying 8 (and I'm planning on returning on my way back down south). The staff are lovely, the food is delicious, the setting is perfect right by the river, the pool and river are great fun to cool off in, the Beer Laos is in plentiful supply. By the time I left I felt like part of the family and I had to force myself to leave...I've only been gone 21 hours and I miss the place already... :-(

Disliked: Nothing. If you're hugely squeamish about finding the occasional insect in your bed (there are mozzie nets, but this is the jungle after all) then I don't recommend staying - but if you can handle it then everything else about the place more than make up for it. Be prepared for spiders, ants and plenty of mozzies.

Liked: For a taste of rural Laos, a chance to meet local people and live at one with nature this is the perfect spot.

Disliked: If you are freaked out by bugs (in rooms, shower/toilet, surrounding areas and food), cobwebs or remoteness I would avoid like the plague, you cannot escape any of this.

Liked: I spent a few hours talking with the new owner, Barnaby, and he has some good ideas for making a good ecolodge even better. The 29km drive to the lodge is very far, and the local tuk tuks and taxis are easily confused. The $20 arranged pickup by the lodge is well worth the money. The food on site is also fantastic.

Disliked: Erik left no negative feedback.
