Liked: the TV-shaped capsules with individual TV's, phone and clock-radios must have been cool 30 years ago. completely out of date by now

Liked: With a price of capsule bed at 2000 yen, this is probably one of cheaper accomodation options in Tokyo. And there is no miracle: you get what you paid for (or, rather, you don't what you didn't!). The location of the hotel is superb, with literally a 1 minute walk to the Asakusa station, and perhaps 2 mins to Kaminari-mon and surrounding shopping area. However, as far as the interior goes, the capsule part (I stayed in) is an old one, not really welcoming. The capsules are old, asking for replacement, with Japanese-only controls. Shower facilities are clean, but they are by far the cleanest part of the hotel... Lockers available for each capsule (do not expect to fit your backpack there, though). Overall, good for one night or so, but not a place you'd dream to come back to. And, by the way, definitely *not* a good choice for your first experience of a capsule hotel.

Liked: Good location very close to the subway, small but clean rooms. Capsules are just like dorm beds with a bit more privacy. For this price, it would be hard to beat. Doors don't really close in the rooms, so there is a chance of having things stolen, but it feels safe. There are narrow lockers for smaller bags and valuables in the rooms.

Liked: Kawase is a great deal for travellers. It had a great location, was clean and there was no curfew. If you are looking for luxury this is not for you, but if your a traveller looking for good value and somewhere decent to sleep this is a great place.

Liked: It has a wonderful location and the staff is sooooooooooooo helpful, they would do anything to avoid you the smallest problem.

Liked: I enjoyed the stay. The staff was rather helpful. The place was clean. I did not make any interaction with other travellers though.

Liked: If you value your privacy then this is the place for you. The double room was fantastic, en suite, TV and air con. It was a pleasure to stay here. And right next door to the Asakusa sub way station. No complaints at all on this one. Perhaps not the place to go if your looking for drunken nights around the common room, but we were looking for a good bed and clean living.

Liked: Very good location. It had free internet, only 2 computers though. Rooms were very clean, although a bit small (we stayed in a double private room with attached bathroom). staff were eager to help and 5 mins walk to good restaurants, Senso Ji temple, groceries and Seven11 (for ATMs) and Ginza line from Asakusa Station.
