It is a 38 minute train ride on the Nagano Dentetsu line from Nagano train station to Yudanaka Onsen train station. From Yudanaka train station it is an 8 minute walk to Shimaya Ryokan.

After arriving the Station pass the LAWSON supermarket on your right hand side and follow the street beside LAWSON up the hill for about 300m, the Hotel is on your left hand side just passed the [e-store] supermarket and just before the Haiku museum.
