Liked: Perfectly serviceable, offered a good triple room for our little party. We chose not to take breakfast there - not a reflection on the hotel's meals, but purely price-based. Reception staff very helpful, free internet (small donation to charity requested). Also very close to several major bus routes so was fairly easy to get around. Directly opposite the Heian Jingu, and just up from the philosopher's walk, which was great.
Disliked: Location ok, but not ideal. It's too far to walk to places such as Gion, but Kyoto is a bit disparate as a city anyway, so you have to rely on public transport.
