Liked: No comment.

Disliked: Was never able to connect to internet. The local computers did not work correctly. Only one shower room. Even when is not so far from the main station, it is far from the downtown.

Liked: Everything was really good. Very, very friendly staff. Very clean rooms. So close to Kyoto station. Highly recommend this place.

Disliked: Only complaint from two of our party of five was that the bedding in the tatami room we were given was a little thin, and their backs hurt. The owners were able to supply us with one extra futon free of charge, but only one because it was a packed house.

Liked: The Inn is close to a subway stop on the main Kyoto line so transport was very easy, the futons were comfortable and the rooms well insulated from the cold! Nice places to eat within 5 mins walk.

Liked: W hat did I like about this property? It was three blocks from the train station. It was clean and the room had a fridge. However ,there were many rules and regs. The mattress was very hard (it was a ryokan so you sleep on the floor). I've been to one before that was quite comfortable Pretty basic but for all you are in it, it was fine.

Liked: We stayed at Private Twin Ensuite and we did have a good time there; though it is a bit far from Kyoto station unlike its sister hotel "Ryokan Seiki). The place is very new, clean and with large space. Given the same rate we paid elsewhere in Japan, this is the largest room we have. The only downside is its internet service that is charged at 100 yen per 20 min.

Liked: Sparkling Dolphins Inn is a small hostel. It has good location very close to Kyoto Station. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the place is clean, and the rooms are nice. I would certainly recommend everybody else travelling on a limited budget to stay at this place. It is great value for the money.

Liked: The location was great and the lobby common room is a nice place to hang out and have a meal. However, our room was not cleaned after the previous people left. The staff didn't think this was a big deal and gave me a funny look when I asked for clean sheets. And for the money, the room was tiny for 4 people to share, unlike previous cheaper hostels.

Liked: I think the location is OK. You can walk from Kyoto station in a few minutes but if you have to carry big baggage it's not so convenience to walk. and there are bus from Gion to the hotel until midnight so you can travel til night .The room is clean and there are clean toilet and bathroom separated inside but room (for 5 people) is not so big. The receptionist is very helpful and can speak English so I think it a good place to stay in this reasonable cost.

Liked: it's new and clean, uncluttered. The extra toilet and separate bathing room makes it easier for travellers with different routines

Liked: It was close to the station about 15mins walk, very basic and small but reasonable budget accommodation for the price. We were able to store our luggage at the inn when we checked out which was good.
