Liked: I loved the beautiful traditional room that we stayed in. This was our first stay in a ryokan and we loved sleeping on the futons on the mats - much more comfy than we'd thought. The Ryokan had so much character and the little Japanese garden was lovely. The staff were very casual and natural and the Kawasaki area with its traditional bulidings were amazing. We felt that we'd gone back in time. This was the highlight of our visit to Japan and I say to anyone, go and stay there for sure.

Liked: This is a ryokan rather than a hostel. The building is old and beautiful and known for its macro-biotic food. They were having some plumbing problems in the men's baths when I was there. One was out of order and another had draining problems. All in all, it's not a bad place.

Liked: Absolutely amazing hostel in Ise. The whole thing is built around a stunning central garden, and all the corridors are open air, so you feel like you're always in fresh air. Rooms are air-conditioned, though, so you're not sacrificing comfort. Although the staff don't speak much if any English, I was able to get by with my 6-months-along broken Japanese, and what they lack in English skill they make up for in friendliness. If you're looking for a party it's probably not the place for you as it seems to draw an older-ish crowd (like my 25-year-old self) but if you're a solo traveler looking for someplace relaxing and beautiful to stay, I would 100% recommend it.

Liked: That place was really an authentic one. It was something totally unusual for Europeans like us and we really enjoyed it because that was part of our learing about the Japanese culture.

Liked: This hostel is very beautiful. The traditional style was inviting and interesting. It is close the the train station and all modes of transport. The hostel had a very informative folder in English about the immediate area and its attractions which was very helpful.However... the staff did not speak to us the entire time we were there... barely a sentence when we checked in... and once in Japanese to ask us about breakfast time... which, due to our lack of Japanese comprehension, meant that we never recieved the breakfast we paid for & nobody came to check we had understood when we missed the meal.The bath was beautiful and relaxing, it is definately an inviting aspect of the hostel. We also thought that the garden was interesting, and thought it was a nice touch to have an English explanation beside the door.However, we chose to travel in Golden Week, and the hostel was noisy with activity in the night. The sounds of families and children could be heard, as well as loud chatting in the hallway. A nice atmoshpere for famiilies... not so much for the romantic getaway we had anticipated.All in all this was a really nice hostel.

Liked: It's a beautiful old inn, with lots of care taken to retain the traditional atmosphere. It has a lovely inner garden. I would love to return to Ise just to stay at this ryokan!

Liked: First my impression is the location of hostel , it is quite beautiful place and feel safety like a home but for Ofuro and toilet should be adjusted. I think hostel officer should have time booking for using shower and Ofuro because It was very traffic jam in it . Moreover, the toilet should add some convinient machine and keep more clean.

Liked: The house is really beautiful and definitly worth of staying if you are interested in enjoying a quiet stay in a charming japanese machiya-house. The location is good too, there is a supermarket, a convini and the trainstop in a 4 minutes walking distance. All in all I really liked it, although the surroundings are not that pretty in the city, but the beautiful house made up for that!

Liked: It is a relatively cheap opportunity to stay at and experience a real Japanese Ryoukan.

Liked: A fine ryokan built around a charming garden, traversed by a bridge on the upper floor, animated by the subtle sound of water dripping in an underground well. Fairly large restrooms and a family bath are available. Well kept by a lady and her daughters, who speak English and French.
