Liked: Had a bit of an issue when checking in, but it was all sorted out when I showed my email confirmation. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Location is close to several restaurants, and banks. Approximately 12 minute walk from Romolo train station. The rooms are very clean! New bedding and towels are provided everyday! Plus Free wi-fi!Would definitely recommend.

Disliked: Breakfast is a bit disappointing: Yogurt, prepackaged pastries, and juice. Things you can grab and take back to your room and eat, but definitely did not ruin my stay here.

Liked: It was clean

Disliked: Location is awful. Its 20min on underground and a 15min walk to hotel from central milan. Staff were unhelpful and room wasnt ready when we arrived. Walls were paper thin so you can hear every conversation in the hotel whilst trying to sleep. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

Liked: Good spot for the money. Just needed clean quiet room to rest and beat jet lag. The only downfall was that there was no air conditioning so I had to keep windows open at night and there were lots of Mosquitos. Location is a bit off the main track. Breastfast is meager, be Prepared to find your own.

Disliked: No air conditioning. Far from metro, not on main tourist map.

Liked: The hotel was close to a supermarket. Also it was very quiet at night.

Disliked: Only one of the front desk clerks were actually helpful. One was always on the phone and another one rolled his eyes and grunted whenever we asked for something.

Liked: Internet access

Disliked: Air con was not included in price. The reception desk changed twice while we were there and neither person gave us correct information about getting to the airport for an early morning flight. Both reception staff were rude. Especially the last one who tried to make us feel like idiots when we told him our planned route to the airport. He said it was not the right way but that it wasn't his problem. It was in fact the right and easiest way to get there.

Liked: Staff very helpful and located on a good area near Piazza D`uomo and all the public trnasport next to the hotel : bus,train and metro

Disliked: Thin walls so you hear a bit of people talking from the reception if you are at ground level

Liked: For the money that it cost it was well worth it. Nice clean room with everything you need. It is a bit out of the city center, but fallowing instructions easy to find.

Disliked: There was no unpliesant surprise with this hotel.

Liked: We stayed in a private double room and the room was very spacious and the bathroom was nice and clean even though the shower holder was broken. The free breakfast was very basic only offering a few choices (good to eat on the train as a snack) but hot drinks were also included which was gmetro metro easy to get into centre of town.

Disliked: Directions were very misleading, we would never have found the hotel if we hadn't bumped into other people staying at the hostel who offered to show us the way. It is roughly 10-15 minutes walk from the metro. As soon as you leave the metro at the romolo stop take the via Liguria exit. Turn left towards the main road then take an immediate right walking past the petrol station on the corner. Keep walking until traffic lights, walk straight over the road and continue walking straight on. Cross over the road at the next traffic lights, there is an electrical shop right in front of you, and turn right towards the bridge, walking alongside the canal. Hotel Mercurio is just past the bridge on the left hand side.

Liked: -24h reception -can leave your bag with the guy at the receiption -very friendly staff -breakfast to room I read in previous comments that there is no supermarket and that it is too far away from the city center/to the next metro station. I can deny both statements. about the distance: Metro: take the metro line 2 to "Romolo" (about 15 min from central station) and then walk about 500 m. (you can even take the bus - its only 2 stops, exit at "Liguria Alzaia Nav. Pavese") --> tickets are valid for metro, tram and bus Tram: nearest stop (200 m away from the hotel) is "meda tibaldi" (Crossing: Viale Liguria and Via Giuseppe Meda). starting from this stop, tram nr 3 brings you right to Duomo, passing the "Porta Ticinese" (right next to that are the canals where you can find great reastaurants and markets) and the very impressive Church "San Lorenzo Maggiore". (I'd guess its about 15 minutes to Duomo - but I never really paid attention) Unfortunately not all trams/busses tell you what the next stop is called, so I'd recommend the metro for the first time you get to the hotel. About the supermarket: There is one big supermarket (if I remember correctly, it is called "Simply market") at the crossing of Viale Liguria and Via Giuseppe Meda - so it's only 200m away. Even if you want to buy organic food, you can find that there. ("Naturasi-Il Supermercato Della Natura") It's on the Viale Cassale, about 100m west of the Metro station. So, my boyfriend and I did not find the location disturbing at all! One hint about going into the city for the first time: We went by metro and took the exit "Duomo", which was the best thing we could have done! It was already dark outside and when we were leaving the metro station, we saw the Duomo on the right and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele on the left. It was so impressive because it was so well lit! I will always remember this first impression of Milan!

Liked: Staff was great, and although breakfast wasn't very extensive, it was fun to be served breakfast in bed! Also, everything was clean and the TV/aircon functioned well!

Disliked: It was a bit far from the metro and city centre; however, contrary to someone's earlier comment, there IS a very nearby and reasonably priced supermarket!
