Disliked: Room is very small. Breakfast was an additional charge-the only place in Italy on this trip that breakfast was not included.

Liked: Excellent location for atmosphere and feeling part of this delightful town- we could see the staggering facade of San Michele from our bedroom window if we leant out and craned to the right. If you have a hire car however it is perhaps not the best location, however we put up with the long hikes to the car park, and the owner/manager assisted us with routes to drop our luggage, even offered the loan of a bike. Room small, everything about this hotel is 'piccolo', but comfortable enough for a short stay. Breakfast very limited, would have thought it would be possible to provide juice and/or fruit and not just croissants/pastries and coffee, but many bars are close where wider variety available. All round a good chioce and we would be happy to return. Owner very complimentary about Hostel Bookers service, clearly a good partnership.

Liked: The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The only criticism was that even though the location of the hotel was excellent , our room was overlooking the road and shops and was very noisy.

Liked: Fantastic place to stay to see Lucca, very close to everything. The staff were absolutley amazing and really made us feel very welcome. I would definately recommend this place to any young travelers out there due to its great location, epic hospitality and value for money.
