Liked: I´ve stayed in two different rooms in this hotel and your experience varies greatly depending on which room they give you it seems. One was very cute, clean and relatively new with a great a/c unit. The other was much much older, with a poor a/c unit and little atmosphere. Both rooms were in noisy locations which made it hard to sleep sometimes.

Disliked: Disliked how noisy it was.

Liked: The breakfast was ok

Disliked: The room was not as indicated on the photos. The bed was not very good at all. After travelling to Genova, it was a disappointment to arrive in that particular room but the hotel was nice outside the room.

Liked: clean and nice rooms. Nice view from one of the rooms balcony. Good location if you dont have any problems with walking. Maybe describe that the hotel is located on the top of a hill so old people know before they book. High stairs to climb

Disliked: that we had to go to another hotel to get the keys to our hotel. First we climbed up all the stairs to hotel Balbi but when we finally was there we had to find a nother hotel where we could check-in, a bit enoying

Liked: The location is perfect -- very close to train station, to waterfront, and to old town. The staff on hand is super helpful, and offered to make breakfast for us early, and helped us book train reservations even after the official reception hours had ended. Just super nice people all around.

Disliked: Lots of stairs.

Liked: Excellent place to stay! Friendly, nice, clean, close to everything. Really close to both the train station and the centro storico.

Liked: Good value for money.

Disliked: We had a MAJOR problem after we left the hotel. They deducted the full amount owing from our debit card that we had used to pay the deposit with and we did not know this. We then paid again in full on leaving the hotel. We has huge problems trying to get the money refunded to us and the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. It cost us much time and effort and finally we got our money refunded.

Liked: Free wireless internet, really close to station and a short walk from nice bars and restaurants

Disliked: Walls are very thin, got woken up in the night because of people talking, staff were ok but not overly friendly, breakfast was pretty bad, but at least it was food.

Liked: Fantastic location, just steps from the train station. It is overpriced in my opinion. The wifi did not work in my room so I had to sit next to the router with a cable the whole time which was uncomfortable. They really need to get new towels, the ones they have are like sandpaper and are not great for drying yourself. My room was especially noisy since it was right next to the reception desk, I actually heard them arguing with another guest about if his breakfast was included or not because there was a discrepancy. But argue over 1 Euro's worth of food? Come on.....between that and the towels i think they're sort of cheap.Other than that it was a nice place, and above anything else location is what you'll be happy about.

Liked: This hotel is a very good one. Excellent breakfast and very friendly and helpful crew. Our room was big, with tv, A/C and mini fridge included.Despite 2 negative points: unconfortable bed and too much wasted towels, the stay was nice for us. We recommend this hotel.

Liked: For a city with little hostel, you can't be too mindful. I skipped the free breakfast but I guess it might had been decent. Location is great and I was able to check-in earlier than I'd expected. One thing though, the towel I was given was seriously distraught, dry and paper-like. It was painful using that to wipe myself clean. I had to pat myself dry.

Liked: The staff at this hostel were the most helpful I have come across and will answer your questions with as much information as possible. The rooms are nice and clean and comfortable and the hotel was located really close to the harbour and a great kebab shop that is just down the road!

Liked: Probably as close to the main station as you will find, there is not many hostels in Genoa so this isnt a bad alternative and reasonably priced for own room
