Overview

The Pensione Ottaviani, conveniently located near Piazza Santa Maria Novella, did little to change its layout when it took over the space from Saint Paolino Hospital.
Privately run by the owner, with a warm and friendly welcome to groups of students as well as to tourists of any kind, the hotel has a long business story. The staff alternate day and night willing to help and offer to guests a delightful stay at reasonable prices. Read more

About Hotel Pensione Ottaviani

Long, wide corridors are lined with simple rooms and bathrooms, providing basic accommodation at matching low rates.

Rooms are quite dorm-like, with minimalist bed frames and shelving, in 1970s shades of yellow and blue. Artwork is more or less completely absent. Most rooms have sinks or showers. Bathrooms themselves feature a bit of wear and tear, but they're modern and functional. Breakfast is included in the nightly rate.

The pension occupies the second floor, so there's plenty of light streaming in to brighten up the wood paneling. We're not handing out any awards to the Pensione Ottaviani for interior decoration, but service, a nice nightly rate, and convenient location make this a pretty package.

Accommodation Information

The twenty comfort styled rooms are offered as private singles, doubles, twins, triples or quadruples. All are provided with clean fresh linen and towels and equipped with a wash basin. Some have shower en suite. Each of these rooms has a table and chair. Some of the rooms are at the back of the hotel and some of them face out onto the street. All floors come with shared bathrooms.

Location Information

Piazza degli Ottaviani is located in Santa Maria Novella’s closest neighbourhood just a few steps away from the famous Renaissance church. If you walk down Santa Maria Novella’s square towards Via della Scala / Via del Sole you will soon be able to see the hotel’s sign directly ahead.
