Liked: Lovely location, beautiful room with gorgeous ocean views, and the hosts Sofia and Antoinetta were so friendly and helpful. We were worried about the walk but heading into town is fine and you can catch a bus back so you avoid the stairs. We had issues with our train booking and Sofia was very helpful in calling the Trenitalia on our behalf to sort out our tickets. We ended up having to stay another night in Amalfi and even though Le Palme was unfortunately booked out, they were so helpful in booking us in at another hotel and even called around their relatives to organise a free lift for us and our bags. I was so happy that I even hugged Sofia! Definitley good value for money and very friendly service. Also the mini bar is well stocked and really cheap!

Disliked: Perhaps there could be easier directions on getting there initially, apart from that though we really enjoyed our stay and would def recommend to others.

Liked: The views were great, the staff were helpful and you can order food in the evening to save trekking into Amalfi centre. The lift was handy but we'd almost reached the bottom before we realised what it was.

Disliked: There was certainly a lot of steps, initially it wasn't easy to find. But they've just had a new lift installed to carry you up and down the 300+ steps, it isn't quick but it does the job. The intercom isn't easy to spot so you have to keep your eyes peeled.

Liked: Definitely above our expectations, especially their hospitality! For the price you pay, no competition to them all along Amalfi Coast (at least the places we stayed).

Liked: Quiet, a good place for getaway. The owners are extremely nice and helpful! Spacious room size and enjoyable views from the mountain. Lovely homemade breakfast!

Disliked: Just a bit too far from town and hard to find. (Recommend to call the hostel for pick up and minimize belonging or luggage since will need to get through around 7mins walks of steps after getting off from bus to the way of the hostel.)

Liked: The home was beautiful and clean. The couple to attended us was wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. Went above and beyond to help us feel at home and to meet our needs.

Disliked: We arrived after sunset and the walk down the many stairs to the hotel was a little treacherous. I must say though that the manager carried our bags and carefully guided us as we walked down the stairs. It was an adventure.

Liked: Lovely place, fantastic facilities at a great price and really helpful staff. There is also a stunning view over Amalfi.

Disliked: Access is extremely difficult. You have to get a bus from Amalfi to the top of the hill (about 10 minutes) then walk down about 300 steps to get to the hostel. Then to get back to Amalfi you walk down even more steps (about 600?). After dark only part of the route down is lit, and because of the location under olive and lemon trees there was lots of leaves and fruit on the path, added to the fact that it had been raining this made it extremely slippy and very difficult to walk down. I wouldn't necessarily say don't stay here, as the hostel itself is excellent and you wouldn't get the view without the walk. However, I would definitely advise taking a torch and sensible shoes!

Liked: The staff were very friendly and the rooms clean. The view was spectacular and breakfast was good.

Disliked: The property was hard to find because there are no signs, you have to get the bus to Hotel Excelsior and take the steps next to it. It is then still a long climb down with no signs. The walk down to town is long and hard, we would not recommend it for anyone who is not fit. Amalfi is a quiet town not ideal for young people like us looking for excitement. It is more a small place to relax and is adapted for tourists.

Disliked: Just too many steps to get to and from the place. Going down to the town and beach is 637 steps and going up is 311 steps. You cannot just go for a walk without encountering steps to climb!

Liked: Beautiful place over-looking the sea. Very helpful and friendly staff. There is a bit of a stair hike to get in and out of town but at least you get to take in the view along the way!

Liked: My girlfriend and I took a trip to Italy for two weeks, travelling from Rome to Amalfi, to Florence and back to Rome, and by far Le Palme was our favourite place of all. We even cancelled going to Perugia so that we could stay at Le Palme longer. GOOD: - Breakfast was great- The owners are awesome and helped us with out bags and told us about their families restaurant in Atrani that we went to and was very good.- THE VIEW IS AMAZING- The rooms are good and the terrace is awesomeBAD:- The ONLY thing that was difficult to wrap our heads around were the stairs. Amalfi has lots of mountain hotels, thats what gives amalfi its unique look. So in order to get to certain places you have to climb stairs. Not normal stairs, some are just made of crumbling stone and rock, and some are very uneven and far from one another. I counted from Le Palme to the main walkway in Amalfi and there are 815 stairs and about 500 meters of flat ground that you have to cover daily. I am 23 and in pretty good shape and doing that hike daily was very tiring. I would not recommend using a hotel that is that high up on the Amalfi coast if you have a Heart condition, or have trouble walking because of joints (knees, ankles). If you have money to spend and you have problems with the stairs you might want to go for the more expensive places that are closer to sea level.This is THE ONLY THING that was not above par with this hotel. My girlfriend and I already want to go back to Amalfi now that we are home and we WILL be using Le Palme Holiday House when we go back. It was an amazing experience and a great hotel!

Liked: Staff are really nice and helpful. The view is wonderful. There is a fridge with cool drinks inside. Beds are very confortable. You got 700 steps ( and not 300) to climb to get there from Amalfi,but it clearly worth it. Breakfeast were good and internet free. Amalfi itself is a good place to stay since your between every othernice destination.

Liked: Very clean. Excellent breakfast included. A fairly new hotel, so all decor very modern. There is no road to the hotel itself. The hotel is build into the cliff-side, so amazing views, BUT you must be able to walk 300 steps - either up or down! The hotel offers to help you carry luggage, but you must inform them beforehand.

Liked: Le palme was just great. Clean rooms, good facilities, nice breakfast, spectacular view from the balcony and of course Antoinetta!!! There is that thing with the stairs but you can avoid it by taking the bus. In any case be prepared cause the whole coast (Amalfi, Atrani, Positano etc) is foul of stairs.

Liked: Everything - Location, Quality, Staff. Stunning views. Granted, the steps are a bit of an issue, and it is hard work, but well worth the effort - we will certainly go back if we ever head for the amalfi coast again. Fantastic!

Liked: The room was clean, quiet and large. Breakfast was good. The room had a great view. A major downside was the location. It's extremely difficult to get to with luggage. And it's even harder to leave with luggage - you either carry it up 300 steps or down 600 steps. If I go to Amalfi again, I would stay in the town itself. The shower was a bathtub with a spray nozzle - you must sit in the tub in order to shower. The pillows were extremely lumpy.

Liked: the view, the suite is very cheap and cosy place, very clean, confortable, nice design, a terase with an amazing sea view, nice place to relax for a couple (romantic ;o)
