The Golden Buddha

The Golden Buddha is a peaceful property with 30 rooms which is family run and conveniently located in a pollution free environment in Sarnath, Varanasi. Only a 30 minute drive to the Ganga ghats.

Sarnath is the place Lord Buddha preached his first sermon after attaining enlightenment in Bodhgaya. The Golden Buddha is walking distance from the museum, archeological ruins, Stupa and monasteries.

There are several types of rooms for different budgets :
- Single bed rooms.
- The Budget Dorm style rooms for backpackers. Pay by bed.
- The standard room- has twin beds and located on the ground floor. These thick walled rooms are very cool in the Indian heat.
- The neo-modern rooms- are chic. All have large airy windows with view to the garden.
Some have balconies that over look the garden and outdoor hotub with air-conditioning and cable TV.

The Golden Buddha has an open and airy Indian restaurant that opens out into the gardens and lawns. There is also an equipped travel and money changing desk. Free Wi-fi broadband internet access for hotel guests. Very helpful staff with a homely atmosphere. Great place to unwind after a exhaustive trip around India.
