Liked: I like this place a lot. The staff are really helpful. I came back to stay here twice because its good value for money and I met lots of other travellers here. Pahar Ganj is a crazy area, colourful chaos- it's fun! New King is near Sam's cafe which has great food. Lucky who works here is cool. I like it.

Disliked: Small lane to the front door. Its hard to find on your first visit

Liked: It is a good cheap place to be in Delhi. Now they are reconstructing the main bazaar, so it is a little mass, but soon it will be ok.The room where I stayed was quite fresh and there was no noise during the night, I could rest pretty well.

Liked: This was the second time we stayed at New King, upon our exit from india. We had had problems getting back from Shimla to Delhi and ended up arriving earlier than intended, at 2am the day before we'd booked. But we rang New King at quite late notice and they had no problem with this - they sorted us out with a really nice room and when we arrived in the middle of the night after lots of manic travelling they not only welcomed up in, but also made us some food (we hadnt eaten for hours) and got us some drinks. we were really impressed with and very grateful for the hospitality given to us. They also sorted us out a taxi to the airport the next morning at a good rate of 250rupees. I would seriously recommend staying with Lucky and the gang at New King to anyone travelling through Delhi and wanting to stay in Pahar Ganj.

Liked: Very cheap place to stay though not the nicest, but for Delhi, you cannot really complain too much. Owner spoke very good English though perhaps spoke a bit too quickly even when I asked him to slow down. Not the nicest location and dont expect too much, but as for any big city, the cheapest place you are going to get.

Disliked: Location was in a pretty grotty back alley. A pretty scary place to hang about for your first night in India. The pictures of the rooms on the website are very decieving

Liked: The owner is really helpful and wants your experience to be as good as possible. He reassures you in the crazy world of Delhi, which was definitely welcome. The rooms were basic, but clean and a bargain for the price.

Liked: Good price - good location - free wifi

Disliked: the owner try to sell you services to his "travelling agency" where they want to sell you train tickets 10 times more expensive than if you book by yourself to the train station - place very dirty, the most dirty place we met in India - air cooler is so old and it warm the room instead of cold it !

Liked: Staff were very friendly and very very helpful! The room was clean and the bathroom was of good quality for the money paid which was very very cheap!

Disliked: The location is great, especially in terms of proximity to the station and connaught place, once you get over the hygiene of the alleys just outside the hotel!

Liked: hostel manager lucky is a real helpful guy, basically everyone is trying to rip you off in delhi, lucky is one of the exceptions! if you ask him where to go for food/sightseeing etc you won't be brought to the next tie-up place where he earns commission but you get honest, helpful advise, WORTH A LOT for tourists! rooms are basic, averagely clean, really value for (LITTLE) money!

Disliked: it is kind of hard to find, so call in advance for a pick up!

Liked: This was our first stop in Delhi and was a great location in the traveller district. The guys there (especially Lucky) were very friendly and helpful and Lucky really sorted us out with an airport pickup and helped us book a bus to Dharamsala which we were having real difficulty doing. the place has a really nice feel and we will definitely be coming back on our way out of Delhi. Recommended.

Liked: good location (close to new delhi train station, lots of shops and restaurants nearby etc), helpful staff. don't be fooled by the dodgy alley when you're walking to the hotel, it's still quite a nice place. definitely worth the money.

Disliked: linen wasn't clean so bring your own sleeping bag

Liked: The owner was so incredibly helpful. He spoke perfect English and helped me with a lot of matters like sight-seeing booking my next hostel. He was certainly very kind and helpful and makes this place worth staying in just for that alone. My room was a good size and had a hot shower, which was a bonus. Could have been a bit cleaner but on the whole I really enjoyed my stay. The location is initially a bit hard to find, but is really close to lots of bars and resturants, the Main Bazaar with cheap shops on, the railway station, metro station and lots of the sights.

Liked: The staff, especially the owner, Lucky was more than helpful with whatever you needed. If i ever needed anything i would call Lucky, and it would be taken care of in a quick fashion. It is very tough to find people to actually trust, and this can end up costing a lot of additional money expense, so the service was a warm welcome. The rooms are very good for the money. I would just recommend getting a room with AC. I will stay there again when i return.
