About Hotel JC Chalet

JC Chalet is a new boutique hotel located in the tourist hub of Juhu. About a 15 minutes drive from the airport,this chalet is exquisitely done in wooden staircase, kerosene lanterns and world wall Clocks which transport guests to the colonial era.

As soon as you step in, the front desk exhibits Mosaic paintings -- the art of creating images with an assemblage of small pieces of coloured glass, stone, or other materials. It is a quintessential part of the boutique hotel. The wooden bench at the reception area further adds to the charm. Depicting the 1930’s era, JC Chalet takes you to old Bombay where the British had just about started to make their presence felt in the city. They slowly and steady transformed the way, Indians lived. The chalet unfolds this historic value of the era.
As you proceed inside the Chalet, one cannot help but notice the portraits on the wall. Prints of monuments such as Marine Drive, VT Station, Crawford Market and Breach Candy are framed and pinned on the walls. These prints are dated as easrly as the 1930’s, it is a visual treat to see how clean, green and clutter-free the city of dreams was. Another inspiring characteristic of Chalet’s interiors is maps of Mumbai during the Ashoka reign. Architectural delight, JC Chalet takes you on a visual tour of Bombay.

Location Information

Almost the center of dreams, Juhu Beach is Mumbai’s beach
lapped up by the gushing turquoise waves of the Arabian
Sea. The sunset here has inspired a lot of Bollywood songs
and movies it is resplendent with a host of hues that the
violent red of the dying Sun turns into.

Always a popular hunt for the city dwellers, Juhu beach has
more than sand and Sun, it is famous for street food. You
could relish on lip smacking Bhel Puri, Pani Puri, Shev Puri,
Chats and don’t miss out on the delectable Pav Bhaji. But
relish these at your own risk, because the hygiene factor is
extremely low. We suggest try the restaurants in the vicinity
as they would keep your taste buds contented.

When in Juhu, you could add to your itinerary some other hot
spots of the area. If you are somewhere near to mysticism
then ISKCON temple is the place to be. To catch a dramatic
relief to your trip to Mumbai, you may well savor some piping
hot coffee within the stimulating environs of the Prithvi
Theatre that has kept the genre of plays alive and kicking.
You can also plan a visit to Gandhi Gram at the North end of
Juhu beach, where Mahatma Gandhi used to live when he
practiced law in the Bombay High Court.
